had to balance salaries...
and if you think you can get a Gibson (I believe Anaheim says no, all day), then the price is high.
This is all coming from my perspective that the biggest problem on the Leafs is goaltending so I am aiming for the top. - Aetherial
Replace poopbranson with Manson. Leafs will added the greatest sweetener... Bracco. |

A goal and an assist for a Robertson.
32 in 29 - Steven_Seagull
bust... only 32 in 29.
doesn't even remotely approach Vancouver's ability to have three of the top 2 prospects in the world at all times...

For some reason, we lose every Nylander trade ever made..
I'm a fan of Mike Johnson by the way. Loved how he put Andi Petrillo and Darren Dreger in their place yesterday on Leafs Lunch. |

Nylander for Georgiev. Did I read that right? So a 23 year old top 10 pick on pace for 70 points... For a backup with a career GAA above 3.00. Is that a serious thing?
Honest question, what is the most ridiculous price tag a literal (frank)ing backup was ever traded for in the sports history?
That's about as stupid as suggesting that the leafs are going to get Seth Jones for Sandin... Because they're trying to reset the market on teenage defenseman.... - joel878
Semyon Varlamov (23 years old) for first-round pick in the 2012 Entry Draft and a conditional second-round choice in either 2012 or 2013
Philipp Grubauer (26 years old) + Cap Dump for 2nd Round Pick
Cory Schneider (27 years old) for the 9th Overall Pick
Cam Talbot (27 years old) for Picks 57, 79 and 184
Antti Raanta (28 years old) + Stepan for 7th overall and DeAngelo
Ben Bishop (26 years old) for Cory Conacher + 4th Rounder
Robin Lehner (24 Years old) for 21st Overall Pick
Jaroslav Halak (25 years old) for Lars Eller (21 and a "top prospect") and Ian Schultz
Johnathan Bernier (24 years old) for Scrivezina, Frattpack and a 2nd rounder
Sergei Bobrovsky (23 years old) for a 2nd and 4th
Martin Jones (25 years old) for a 1st rounder
So Georgiev (23 years old) is not getting Nylander lol, but a Kapanen/mid level first tends to be the game here. |

Exactly. If we trade a guy like Nylander it can't be for Gudbranson and Devin Shore.
Have a listen to Leafs Lunch from yesterday. It will make you chuckle.. |

Ryan Miller is 6'2, so he's clearly better than any 6'1 goalie.
With his GAA of 3.01 this year, he definitely would be an upgrade |

Gibson has been terrible this year. Ryan Miller replaced him for a bit because he was so bad.
Goalies are such a crapshoot that I would never give up a sure thing for a maybe. Not to mention a great goaltender in Andersen who just slumping at the moment.
Just look at bobrovsky this year. |

Especially with the Leafs being a front runner for that KHL goalie.
There are a few UFA backups this year as well. |
