No more conditional crap. Shero got (frank)ed on that, granted he’s not in NJ anymore.

Sami should be a 2nd, period. Even if that’s it.

Let the market dictate and see what teams offer.

So many ppl add a piece of crap piece and say to make salaries work but then dont realize they need to add more since the contract they send back to make it work is poop.

Troy stretcher is exactly what we are already littered with 5-6 dman so all we are getting from this deal is a 2nd round pick thats conditional for one of if not the best d rental on the market... He will fetch a first there is little doubt the market for d is a lot shallower then last year making it extremely good for sellers.

Honestly dont know how he allowed a team to trade for a player of Halls caliber and give them the safety of lottery protecting there pick as thay was almost the only way we would win that deal is if their pick won the lottery. I think if you are trading for Hall you expect to be in the playoffs and there was no need to protect that first.

Im curious though if the yotes miss and win the lottery does that mean we only get one pick from the trade ? A first the following year ? And the conditional third becomes nothing or do we get a first and third next year if they somehow miss and winn a lottery this year?

Devs would get next year's unconditional first and the third (unless they sign Hall ) and then it turns into a second.

Simply said, Shero is a "trade" winner more than loser, this was the best deal he could get. Hopefully Yotes miss and its a 5-12 pick. FYI Merkley 12 points in 14 games, Schnarr 7pts in 11 games for Bing...

Unless its a first-rounder, I hope Fitzy is going to get promising, if somewhat struggling, prospects that need a change of scenery to potentially blossom. Otherwise its going to be a long few years. It seems the Rangers approach of scorched earth is passing us by, That and spending in free agency. Sigh....there are always lottery balls to pray for .

Stetcher bottom pair dman at best, really a 7th guy to replace a better one you’re getting in the deal. NJ already has some Troy Stetchers on their roster
Baertschi (to match salaries) first round bust, is he even in the league still? Garbage
Conditional 2nd i dont want to give you anything of value so let me throw in a conditional 2nd to make it look like there’s a decent pick involved

So where’s the value? Where’s the part where NJ gets a return that works for them for a mid-pairing defenseman?

Or are some fans too stupid to realize the “here’s our garbage for your player in a position of demand for multiple contending teams around the deadline” trades just make them look like morons?

Hey if teams dont want to offer up anything of worth for a rental then I would do Severson but now thats a top 4 right hand dman signed for the next couple of years and that would take more of a Nylander return for me then Kapanen.

If the leafs arent comfortable moving Kapanen for a rental and want a young rh d with term it will cost a lot more then a Kapanen and im not talking a 2nd im talking up the echelon of player coming back even if we need to add a tiny bit but I wouldnt overpay for a middle six winger no matter how fast he is.

With what im reading about the return Hawk fans think they would get for Saad it would really make me consider moving Palms but I think they are severely over rating Saad whos not only over rated but over priced.

Hello all, I hope you all voted for Nico in the Allstar voting, well another Devil needs your help. I did not know this but there is a fan vote for Hobey Baker award to help narrow the field down, so please vote daily for Tyce Thompson:

Do you follow college hockey closely ? Could you give us an update on Walsh ? His numbers look good but are they no where close to being a hobey baker nominee ?

Shero did fine as a horse trader but the Hall trade just didn’t go well for whatever reason. Coming up short on this one is disappointing but in the end it will depend on what Bahl turns into.

I’m just afraid we got quantity over quality.

If AZ wins the lottery I’m going to be sick.
It would have been nice to get something if they hit the lottery for having to wait another year; like make that another item to improve the third round pick.

Walsh is around 150th in scoring in the NCAA, so yeah even though he's having a good season he's nowhere close to a Hobey Baker nominee. Also I believe if he returns to Harvard next year it puts the Devils into a situation where they have a few weeks after the season to trade his rights, sign him or lose him to free agency.

Yep, a risk with any potential college bound player. He might also be scared off now with all of the dysfunction.....

And please vote and pass the link on.
