Smoke House. It was mediocre. I got a two meat plate, brisket and hot link, potato salad and beans. The brisket was dry has hell, the hot link was so so. The sides alright.

Sorry it turned out yuck. But, thanks for keeping me from wasting my time...

Yeah. My buddy's wife got a brisket grilled cheese and it actually looked good. Where do you like there?

Rudy's has moist brisket, jalapeno sausage, and killer cream corn. There are a few Rudy's around, but you have to go to the one in San Marcos to get the moist brisket. Jboyd says I need to try Black's. He posted a photo of some ribs that looked pretty scrumptious.

I’ve been to Terry Blacks in Austin. It’s stupid good. The beef ribs are one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.

I don't see anything wrong with that. I honestly think we should be getting Toffoli as the rental winger regardless of whoever winger Ruth wants to get with term, IF he can.

Agree with Toffoli. He'd be my primary target.

Likewise. He checks a lot of boxes for what would work on the Pens. Even though he is a pending free agent, they can always extend or sign him in the offseason if the feeling is mutual. They're still going to need a RW next season. LW, probably not.

If Rackell or Silverberg officially hit the market those are my first choices.

Toffoli is next and if he works I'd want to keep him. Similar though a little lower for Granlund.

After that Zucker who checks enough boxes. He's even played a little RW this year though hasn't been as effective there.

There are actually a lot of good options, not just Galchenyuk types. I'd add Kreider, but Zucker feels far more likely.

Dillon would be my LD add followed by Brodie and Scandella

Second those beef ribs. That’s right under A5 Wagyu as the best meats I’ve ever had.

Oh definitely. If somebody not on the radar (Rakell) is available, sure. I was just referring to a player we all know is on the market. We also generally know the affordable acquisition cost.

I'm pretty comfortable at LW. I think RW is much more of a question mark.

Yeah, we're pretty much agreed. Another name is DeMelo whose been sneaky good in Ottawa, but they may want to keep him. With Chabot, Tkachuck, and 2 lottery picks they might be done tanking.

Yea Rakell is the very top for me. That contract is awesome. Zuckers my number 2

I could see them tanking one more year (this year). They're bottom five and probably want to stay there. I do agree though that they may be done selling off youngish players for picks, although I could see them taking on one more bad contract for some picks since they have so many coming off.

I just don't think the Pens are going to make any moves for defense unless it's Schultz being moved out and then making a move for an RD under contract.

I think your key statement is if they hit the market. I think JR's earlier statements about how previously there were no significant talent to hit the market yet is the key. I think most GMs still believe they have a shot for a playoff spot (at least the one's who we would like to obtain talent from) so they won't be selling off talent. I think if Ana is out of it I agree Rackell or Silverberg would be great pick ups. If Montreal is open for business I agree with most rumors I believe Tartar would be an amazing pickup. Same with Minnesota if they are open for Business I think Zucker is another name who would be an interesting pickup. I think JR will sort through the prices and he will try to acquire a name or 2. I think if all else fails he will try a 1-1 swap with Galchenyuk and may take a shot with a cheaper option. I do see Zucker and Tartar being his top two options if available just from the current rumors. I would love to acquire Rackell. I am unsure if Ana would make either him or Silverberg available though.

Agree, with a lot of these names like Rackell, Silverberg, Tatar, Zucker, etc it's a matter of if teams want to hang on to those guys or cash in on a seller's market for a big return. Not sure on any of them if it happens.

Yeah, Rackell would easily be my first choice, but I assume he's not really available. I'm definitely putting Toffoli ahead of Silfverberg, though (I hadn't even thought abut him until you mentioned him, but I could see ANA moving him way before Rackell). I'd put Granlund ahead of Silfverberg, too. He can play center and he has a higher ceiling. I'd also be a little worried about trading for a 30 year old with 4 years left at $5.25M for next season and beyond.

I haven't put much thought into defensemen, but Dillon would definitely satisfy JR's "pushback" need (I would like it, too). I also like that he is cheap and on an expiring deal.

Anaheim is rumored to just be considering trading good vets and getting more youth as their window isn't close. I'm hoping they do because a young RH puck mover would be high on their radar so it seems like a good match.

I'd prefer Rackell for that great contract and PP fit, but Silverberg's contract is good too and he's another wing that's good all over the ice and can play both wings.

Wilson’s really mailed this season in. Hard to be a doom and gloom stats blogger when the teams doing well and even the upmost kool aid drinkers are tired of reading about Jack Johnson. Furry convention in Pittsburgh again this year? At least he will get to see all the other stats crowd in a safe place.

The vets are guys like Silverberg and Rackell, though from what I've read they're less likely to deal Silverberg because they see him as a good transitional leader.

The young puck moving RHD is Addison. Most of the prospecta above him won't be traded so he's a good match for Anaheim who covets that skill set.
