The all decade first line forwards was damn easy to pick haha you can't dispute it at all.

True, but in 4 of the 5 years previously, he averaged right around 40 points, all of which were on a playoff roster. If you include every season of the past 6 years (including this season), he is right at 46.7 points. These numbers start with his age 23 season and his 4th year in the league. He is 28 now so expecting his current production to sustain the next 3.5 years might be overly optimistic. He's had Koivu and Staal as centers so that's not too shabby.

I think we both agree that RW should be the target, so hopefully this all works out. I get antsier by the day haha.

Zucker is on pace (if he'd been healthy) for his 3rd season out of 4 with 40 ES points. You won't find that often at that salary. He won't get a lot on the PP, but for a top 6 wing that's legit.

And that's with Staal, I'd expect a bump with Sid or Geno.

I agree about RW being a bigger need, but still Zucker would be a great pick-up.

Poulin and Addison both had 5 point nights. Poulin's came with 4 goals.

If there's a prospect I hope we don't trade, it's Poulin who might be ready next year.

Well, you make a lot of good points, so I concede to your argument. I'm on the Zucker train now!

Do you know if he plays more LW than RW? LW will be crowded next year if we trade for one with term.

Next year will be his 19/20 year old season and he's already a grown ass man, so I could see him making the jump.

Yeah, but if we get a top-six winger with term? I’m still doing it, but only if it's more than one year beyond this season. It's for Rakell I'm not blinking an eye. If it's for Zucker, also not blinking an eye.

LW and he's still 18. I'm still betting he's still two seasons away from being a full-time player. Also remember there's no guarantee the Pens hold on Kahun. While I think they can sign him to around a similar contract to Rust, you never know.

Prospect question for you guys...

I think it was elite prospects, but there used to be a site that really broke down the level of prospect a player was by showing their grade and what level they were within that grade. Can anyone help?

I realize not much Penguins hockey to talk about right now but I was wondering if I could get some guidance on good seats at PPG arena. This will be my first home game so I’ve never been to the arena. Any recommendations on seat locations? I’m bringing my family and 2 of my wife’s cousins, so super expensive tickets are sadly out.

Just LW to my knowledge. That's why I prefer LW because between McCann, Kahun, and Poulin there's a good chance they could fill that last top 6 role internally, but only Kahun is an option at RW and so far he hasn't played much with Sid.

But on the other side, that might work and a potential Poulin-McCann-Hornqvist 3rd line is some nice depth so they can move guys around to fit Zucker, and that might be more realistic than Rackell.

I'm willing to trade any of them, I just think Poulin is closest to impacting the NHL club so I'd prefer to move Addison and even more our 1st.

Elite prospects used to do that. They would have a small write up on what type of game he plays and a comparable player that they project he could become like.

They both would be some of the bigger players on the team right now if they were called up as emerg players. Poulin is mostly left and Légaré is a rw. I think they will spend most of the year in the A but get a chance due to injuries. Hopefully they will be at a spot to compete but I think some time in the A would be good for them.

Even though this is probably not on the radar, what do you guys think of this route...

Instead of giving up a ton for guys like Zucker and/or Tatar THIS season:

First:
Toronto is need and rumored to be floating Kap and Nylander, but that seems a bit much for dmen who will back this season. I know Hyman plays the first line now, but in terms of giving away younger players with a bigger future, I feel there's something to a Schultz/Hyman swap. Obviously the Pens would need to add more, but they can probably get away with not having to send either a 1st or one of Addison, Poulin or Legare.

Second:
Toffoli for a 2nd at the most.

Third:
Connor Murphy from CHI. This may be a little more costly than he's actually worth due to his term, age and production, but it would be IMO a solid way to round out the RD situation for the Pens for the next few years. I'm not sure what his part would cost, but I'd go as far as a 1st and mid-level prospect and preferably throwing in Chuck. This one is harder to evaluate for me.

I feel that these moves improve the Pens without giving up as much.

Hyman-Sid-Toffoli
Kahun-Geno-Rust
McCann-Bjugstad-Horn
Simon/ZAR-Blueger-Tanev

This gives the Pens solid depth if someone like Simon is the odd-man out.

I'm curious; I read about your exploits in Nashville, and was wondering which BBQ place you ended up at in San Antonio.

Is that a joke? They talk about Guentzel being on one of the top lines again and he's been out a month...

I don't see anything wrong with that. I honestly think we should be getting Toffoli as the rental winger regardless of whoever winger Ruth wants to get with term, IF he can.

For a 2nd and a prospect I can’t believe he’s still a king.

You got to think the Kings are holding back right? Maybe Toffoli goes on a little streak and they think they can get a little more?

Is there a trade freeze during the all-star break? This would help me to not obsessively refresh capfriendly for the next week if there is.

Smoke House. It was mediocre. I got a two meat plate, brisket and hot link, potato salad and beans. The brisket was dry has hell, the hot link was so so. The sides alright.
