It's similar to what we have all been discussing all season, but found it interesting that Montreal is shopping Kovy for a 3rd round, if this writer is to be believed. - Beatnic57
Kingerski once brought his own decibel meter to the SCF in Nashville just to claim it wasn't as loud as Nashville said it was. I will never credit him with anything. |

Yeah, I just would be pretty cheesed if we could have had Kovy for free and end up spending a 3rd. . Completely hypothetical, and unlikely, but a possibility nonetheless - Beatnic57
A few outlets stated the pens had zero interest in Kovy prior to his signing in MTL and I highly doubt anything has changed. They have their targets set by now. |

I think you have to take Pageau's possession numbers with a bit of a grain of salt........he plays on a team that, even when they were winning, was a possession trainwreck. he has been saddled with some AWFUL linemates over the years also....this is the first season I can ever remember him consistently having quality linemates
I'm not disputing your assertion that he's overvalued right now based on his goal totals......obviously that's the case, and it's why Ottawa likely wants to move him, but he is a very very good defensive forward. - sensarmy_11
I was thinking along the same lines... maybe he could reach a whole other level with linemates the Pens can offer him, and he's most likely only regressed as the Sens have slid as a team. And his D work will be highly valued by Sully. |

He also thinks AA is a well-rounded player so....
I keep reading his free stuff for a different perspective, but his takes are often so strange that I don't know why. - Tojo.
He’s the same tard who thought the Guentzel contract was bad. |

So you would trade JJ for Chabot even though Brassard didn’t work out? |

If they make a trade it should be for a top line capable winger not a 3c. |

He never proved it. He used an app on a iPhone. He also claimed they pumped in crowd noise and that his "radio trained ears" can notice the slight cracking of speaker noise compared to actual people lol. It was really pathetic. |

I'd disagree about a RW logjam. There isn't an obvious option for Crosby's RW. Some possiblities like Bjugstad haven't been tried, but it's getting close to the deadline.
Zucker is a long-term move and I think with Guentzel eventually back they have enough LW options in McCann, Kahun, and Poulin. That said they do need help and can movw those pieces around so I'm not going to be mad if they get Zucker who I really like, I'd just prefer a RW.
I think McCann and whatever leftovers he plays with will really be the 4th line behind Blueger and he's better than that and can just play top 6 LW and move to center qhen Crosby or Malkin is hurt. But it's also not bad to have him elevating a bottom 6 line, so I can live with it and that might work best, it just isn't my first choice. - Tojo.
I agree with this. I think McCann as Sid's LW and Kahun as Malkin's LW are good enough. Add Galch and ZAR in the bottom six and the LW is pretty well covered. As for RWs, if Horny is not playing top 6 anymore and Bjug is not a fit, that leaves only Rust.
I would go so far as to say that I would target a top 4 puck-moving LD before I would target a LW. After Dumo comes back, this could kick Petts down to the 3rd pairing where he probably belongs and it would kick JJ to the pressbox most nights which I think we would all agree would be a good thing. |

I agree with this. I think RW is the biggest hole, LD is a spot they could easily upgrade and LW is fine with McCann, Kahun, and Bjugstad as the other bottom 6 center.
That being said, I'll still be excited if we get Zucker because he's very good and upgrades the team. |

Which we all know will never happen. Not only that, but what has Petts done to deserve the 3rd pairing? His 5v5 production is perfectly fine, he has a 53% SCF% and 55% HDCF%. I think wasting assets on the D, which is perfectly fine unless Dumo can't return, would be a huge mistake. They need a finisher in the top 6 without Jake and they even could have used one when Jake was healthy. |

I'm a little fascinated that we -always cap striving- activated Schultz before All-Star break, especially as he didn't even play Tue. |

I think his defense has left a lot to be desired and sheltering this 23-year-old defenseman would probably help his development. Not only that, but a bottom pairing of Petts-Schultz would be a pretty big advantage over other teams' 3rd pairings in a long series.
As for finishers in the top 6, I think McCann, Kahun and Rust are more than adequate. Both McCann (23) and Kahun (24) are young and on an upward trajectory. Unless they are planning to use McCann as 3C, putting either of these guys in the bottom 6 is a waste, speaking of wastes, IMO. |

It's not about his offence it's about his pk and match-ups against the best center-man in the eastern conference . It is astounding that pundits such as yourself that apparently watch games don't know this and the numbers on this player have never told the whole story ,pathetic take in my opinion |
