The Isles aren't as good as their record shows
They are 14-16 since late November.
They are a perfect example of a team getting hot goal tending. - Santo_44
Yup. islanders roster stinks. And Barzal isn't looking too hot. He's the closest to a star they have.
Great coaching and goaltending but poop roster. |

Pending UFA that will most likely (frank) off in the summer to the highest bidder, might as well trade him for a package at the TDL if the Leafs won't make the playoffs |

Mainstream media doesn't like to report this. Dreger made some odd comments today about Freddy not liking the system and that's why he's struggling. Huh? He stinks every January. - RogerRoeper
lol, Dreger is awful at that stuff.
just makes stuff up |

Him and Button are brutal.
Dreger at least does have some contacts and breaks trades but Button is a loser. |

I've commented on Dreger's comments about it. I didn't stand up on national tv and announce he will be signing offersheets. |

Mainstream media do not want to say Freddy stinks because they need to keep their narrative he carries the team alive.
People are waking up! |

FFS, a window just opened up in my work schedule - so I'm trying to find a friend to go to either the Leafs@Nashville or Leafs@Dallas next week. Flight and hotel can be done for about $600 per guy (taxes included).
I can't franking find anyone who can go.

to be fair, freddy may not be the right goalie.
his strengths are his rebound control, puck tracking and lateral movement. things that work better on team that babs wanted; one playing a tight defensive system in front of him.
he's consistently struggled with forwards shooting at him from the wing with speed. like some of the hawks goals.
maybe a goalchie like lehner who is big and relies on athleticism would be a better fit for keefe's system. |

Would we have any interest in Vatanen from NJ?
If we could get them to take Ceci, we could throw in Bracco, and obviously something else of value.
Thoughts? How high are you willing to go? |

Leafs should target a contender and offer a good forward asset or two in return for a good d-man.
Trading with bottom feeders is easy because they suck, but they suck for a reason.
That being said, I would trade Johnsson, Bracco, and a bag of ketchup chips for Vatanen |

Bracco, 2nd, 3rd
What if the Leafs sent the Ducks Bracco, Ceci for Miller and a mid pick.
opens up 3.5 million in cap space.
Then you can go get a major asset with term or a smaller trade like Dillon.
Dumba, Brodie, Vatanen? Good fits are to be had I hope Dubas pulls the trigger.

He is apparently available...It would cost a good package of Kap and prospects.
Do the Ducks trade and then ship Johnnson for Brodie+asset.
Muzz-Brodie would be an awesome pairing. |
