cool.
i don't see the isles and leafs playing anywhere near the same style. I think a straight up comparison of goalie numbers between the 2 teams is beyond zero value, but is actually negative value; because it leads to bad conclusions. - Tumbleweed
I conclude the Islanders have gotten better goaltending

A 3rd for Dell.. I like it - PatC80
Unless the Sharks are piggy backing on ridiculous demands for backup goaltending.
But yeah, a 3rd plus one of the young depth players the Leafs have...Timo or Marchment for example.
Hell. Make that 3rd a conditional 2nd if Dell re signs. |

The Isles aren't as good as their record shows
They are 14-16 since late November.
They are a perfect example of a team getting hot goal tending. - Santo_44
that's possible.
seems like an average skilled team that plays a conservative style that minimizes rush attempts and clean looks on net. but also limits their goal scoring.
the leafs play an aggressive style that allows more clean looks on their net.
the style difference between the 2 teams is immense. |

It is always the teams fault if the goalie is doing poorly and it is on the team if the goalie is doing well.
Unless you are Florida of course...Where if Bobrovsky plays well they will be a contender. |

Well if we played with Keefe for the first 23 and not the 80 point pace Babs had, maybe we can say 100-105 range |

agreed.
but hd chance on their own don't tell you enough. it's number that should be looked at in conjunction with hdsh% & hdgf%.
leafs score more than the other team on their hd chances. so do the isles. both the isles and leafs systems are getting positive results; but for different reasons.
but not as good as tb, bos or nash. |

Isels are a fraud. System team with no true firepower aside from Barzal. Will be an easy out in the first round. |

keefe's numbers are inflated from hutch's wins. he's horrible and it won't keep up.
leafs win more than they lose when freddy is in net.
leafs lose more than they win when hutch is in net.
leafs want the playoffs, they need to replace hutch. simple. |

Mainstream media doesn't like to report this. Dreger made some odd comments today about Freddy not liking the system and that's why he's struggling. Huh? He stinks every January. |
