Clearly money grab. No evidence to support the accusations and we are talking about an event with hundreds of people lined up to get pics with Gritty and you are telling me no one got it on camera or saw anything? Giant orange Chupakabra performing a running Superman punch on a 13 year old child is something people are likely to miss.

The entire thing sounds ridiculous to begin with.

I'd argue that JG Pageau should be more coveted than Palmieri. He's a year younger, has more points, plays C, and is UFA at end of year.

He would literally be an ideal candidate for a team looking for a 3rd line C to make a deep run.


Whether or not Ottawa re-signs him is up in the air, but if a team comes forth with a 1st rounder in this year's draft, I've gotta think Ottawa trades him.

Your points are entirely fair and logical but I'm not so sure I agree with the fact that JGP is a pending-UFA being something more attractive than Palmieri having another year on his deal. Probably comes down to a team-by-team basis as to whether that's the case or not. Palmieri is a solid goal-scorer that has beyond-reasonable contract and that would have a lot of value for a contending team that's perennially tight to the cap.
