I don't recall Elliott having to make any tough saves.
- PLindbergh31

He had a nice save in the 3rd on Rust I believe. I thought he did a great job controlling rebounds on some odd angle shots the Pens took.

With that said, it was a total team effort which helps the goalie from having the stand on his head.

My only gripe with last night was the broadcast..

I swear, if it's not Doc, Eddie, & Boucher NBC's national broadcasts are one of the most painful in all sports.

I like the play by play guy. Milbury, not so much.

Good for him, but the PP itself is struggling and a lot can be attributed to his still in progress ability to keep pucks in the zone on clears, make the right decisions on the entry rush, and make clean passes to Giroux and Jake

Sure, he is not the only problem but I dont think hes ready yet to run the top unit and until Ghost gets back and is confident again I think they should go with Nisky because he has experience being successful running a PP

- bulet13

Niskanen doesn't have near the puck skills that Provorov has and the opposition PK would not fear his shot and allow them to cheat to other players.

Yeah point blank shot right in front of the net, he played it perfectly. Other than that I don't remember any really.

Anyone else noticed that Millbury sighed when it became evident the flyers would win?
- bulet13

I noticed this as well. I wasn't sure if it was a sigh or a yawn, but he sure seems to have a hard time staying non-biased when calling the Flyers games. That being said, last night he was actually much more complimenting of the team than I've seen him be in a long time.

Last night's play by play (can't recall his name) is definitely the most palatable for me outside of the A-team trio.

Milbury's obvious biases calling any game are so annoying - and he rarely offers intelligent insight or at least funny quips. He's awful.

Couple times he was just lucky, and there was a point blank shot that could have been tough, but Elliot was square to the shooter and absorbed the puck right in the crest.

Millbury was openly mourning Flyers victory

He made one point blank save on Rust (?) when Crosby centred a pass between his legs from behind the net.

I disagree. Even if his shot is a little worse, I think he is better at passing and receiving passes and is a little more composed under pressure.

I think Provy can turn into a decent PP qb but right now I think he is a big reason for the PPs overall struggles. And anyways it seems a change is needed because this current top unit just isnt working

Provy is not a PP1 player, many plays have died on his stick or him fumbling a puck.

How is Lovejoy even a professional television personality??

I don't think he completed a single sentence last night without tripping himself up.

Yeah he was pretty awful. That was definitely the C team for the in game broadcast as well.

Another reason to hate media blackouts/exclusivity. At least give us locals JJ, Jonesy/Clement, and Taryn as an option

LOL. Ben's got a lot of kinks to work out before he's smooth on the air.

It's really not. I could point you to different stats that show that he is not a good PP qb (yet) but I have a feeling you do not like to look past points as an indicator of success.

Each is entitled to their own opinion. I am not content with the struggles of the top unit and would like to see some changes made.

Just curious, what's the F3 spot?
- hockeylover

F1 is the first forechecker in, F3 is the high man who plays back.
