Carson Focht. About time they get a centre prospect down there.

A soon to be 20 yr in his 4th year junior who’s on pace to put equal/possibly worse numbers than last year - wow! let me tuck my boner into my waist band

When someone has gone down someone has stepped in. Every team has that issue . No different than when Hedman or Mark Andre Fluery
- VANTEL

True. I think it's quite dependent with all teams how far the line-up dominoes fall due to injury. I still see some gaps this year. (Motte, Schaller, Eriksson,) ideally you have ready guys in the A to fill those.

Next year will be a different story. But I agree with Bloats at this point. It's basically year 1 of having decent internal competition.

Fanty isn’t a rookie but i get you

Oops, he's got over 100 games with Kings. Didn't know that. Just assumed he wasn't a known NHL entity.

I think Gaudette is a great example of quality depth. Someone who can step in and steal a spot.

Is Benn being switched out for Fatty considered depth? Or is Benn just not as good as advertised and got displaced by a rookie? I hope Fatty ain't another Hutton 2.0

- bloatedmosquito

Fatty is a 6/7 guy and yes he is depth. Same now if Fatty goes down Benn can step in.

Sutter went down and Gaudette stepped in. Leivo went down and Loui stepped in ( don't look at the price tag.

Don't believe the stories if another forward goes down see how fast Ferland recovers.

Easy there tiny, don't embarrass yourself, someone asked about 5 guys signed for Utica next season, from draft picks, he was the other guy that came to mind that fills an organizational need down there,

I can't argue that injuries have slowed this team down so far because it hasn't. You're right, but I think that's more a result of other roster players stepping up instead of exceptional depth. Marky has done a great job this season along with others (usual suspects). I think that's masked some of our team's faults.

Again, you're right. So far so good.

When Mac or Sautner get injury call ups its more as a role player who probably sits in the press box. No point in doing that to the better prospects who’s future look better.

Pretty sure he would be playing already, if it weren't for cap issues.
I fully expect to see Schaller being waived in the next week or 2

So taking the Gaudette example are you not acknowledging the lines between Future and Depth are blurred.

Here was a waiver exempt developing player that was called up later in the season after being sent down on injury needs. He has stuck since and is now a regular having just passed the injured Leivo in games played.

He was practicing two weeks ago. I think rest him all the way until 3 weeks before the playoffs.

Gaudette is the best example. He was healthy and ready to rock. AHL to NHL ready. A nice priced solution as well. We need more of that and less money in the press box.

Haha tiny! embarrass myself? You suggested Him! I gave some context to why I don’t think he’s the best candidate. I guessed Utunen - Minivan cracked up - the kid got 80+ Games of pro hockey under his belt and he doesn’t turn 20 till the end of April. Bth I could care less if they sign him or not but he seems like the most likely guy. Btw Maddens a center. So is Jasek & MacEwen

On that note when they come back tough on TG messing with the chemistry of late.
- Nighthawk

Yeah chemistry is great now. Though the pace is going to be even more intense. Thus if roster healthy some players may benefit from sitting for a recharge.

JB says Ferland is ready soon. They might make a vet call and draw Motte out. Just like Sutter is getting up to speed playing on the fourth would be good for Ferland.

Maybe rotate Beagle to rest a bit with Motte and have Sutter play some center. But the race is so tight Green won't have that luxury.

Not drafted that could play in the NHL from Utica Rafferty Graovac Bailey Macewen Sautner

The embarrassment part was referencing when you said something about tucking in your boner
I like Utunen so I would be fine with him, I just think Focht will be signed, regardless of his point production, the kid was a late cut of the Gold medal winning Canadian junior team.
Also, Jasek is a player who is being converted to centre as injuries have occurred, MacEwen has played mostly RW in the pro's, Madden is currently a centre, but what other prospect plays centre?

- VANTEL

OK so who out of this group do you think, "Hey, this guy could step in and be a full time NHL'er over 82 games"?

To me, Bailey is the most experienced, yet still has much to prove in the show. So he's still in the evaluation phase.

Edit: I missed Graovac. He's got the most NHL games. Still, on the bubble as a full timer.

Well it was clearly a sarcastic AF comment so not embarrassing at all.
The point was that Focht hasn’t done enough to garner must excitement - imo he should be tearing it up and he’s not = Flaccid
Madden is probably the only true C prospect we have. And Costmar

Before his injury it was Graovac. He was being deployed on the power play as well.

I think Rafferty is ready and I think he will be second unit PP. I think he is better than Stecher.

I think Graovac if healthy could be a 4 th line guy full time.

The rest of them could step in short term.

Yeah, I missed him on the read through. (See edit). I like what I saw from him. Still a bubble guy at 26.
