No, if the Leafs make a deal in the next week or two....it is not a "Early" deal....it is late...but maybe not TOO late. They got talent, Dubas just gotta get off the analytics bandwagon (they are a tool, not the entirety of "team" creation). A couple of the right players. And Leafs could be a team to be feared. As constructed, they will win some 6-4 games, but won't get outta the 2nd round.

Well, I don't necessarily disagree but gritty top six forwards aren't super available. You can't just pick up a Tom Wilson or an Oshie easily. Teams know these guys are valuable and don't seem to deal them very often. Getting a Kassian type player and sticking him in the top 6...well, who do you want to bump down for that guy? Does it really help?

One thing they really need to stop doing is burning Andersen out in the first half and then wondering where it all went wrong. Get a capable backup that can prevent the burnout. It should be a very achievable goal but they have failed to do this for a season and a half now. It's pretty damn obvious when your backup gets his first win in January.
