Maybe we could get another first for sorokon since you love firsts so much. - Cptmjl
No, fists. I love fists so much.
Another shutout for Sorokin again today btw. If you look out your window you'll see an international flight on final approach to JFK colliding with my massive erection. |

It's a lot of pressure expecting players like Bailey and Eberle to bring it every game in the playoffs and produce. That is what it is going to take. Having a nice first round against the Pens and doing nothing against the Canes will not cut it. Teams like Tampa, Pens, and Caps are not going to lose in the 1st round all the time. Isles had everything going for them last year with top teams losing and still only won a round. I just do not believe in the current roster in terms of being able to go on a long playoff run. Hope I'm wrong. - ses111
If we are playing the way we should we will not need those 2 guys to bring it every game. We do not have the other top line wing that is needed on this team for sure.. or top Center and then shuffle.. but we do have a lot of top 6 guys who can score. We also have some young guys who are getting better .... Barzal, Beau, Nelson, Bailey, Lee, Eberle, and Casey are ll guys that have had 20+ goals in the NHL or 50+ points. That is 7 forwards who can score. We certainly have a few D-men who can score too... If we had one more guy who can help on offense we would have a very deep team and could run 4 lines at them like last year.
unfortunately, Ladd was supposed to be that 8th guy. Barring a miracle that isn't happening. So either by trade or Whalstrom, Bellows, etc... getting called up and exploding we are still looking for the last piece... IMO.
IN the past when we swing and miss on a big fish Snow would trade for a bum. Lou doesn't seem to be that foolish. I still am counting on Lou prying away a guy no one is talking about from a team having issues. |

Would it help you get through my posts if I wrote them in crayon? That way if you still struggle at least your wife can read them out loud to you. Bonus reading practice for her.
I said a few posts ago I think he'd be about the only guy out there you could make a kinda-reasonable argument for. I don't agree with you but I'm not going to lose my mind because you disagree
But, as far as I'm concerned, it's not even remotely close to being up for debate for anyone else out there. Rentals. Just to be clear. Just rentals. Rentals only. Nobody but rentals.
Just rentals. - eichiefs9

If the Isles could sign top FA's it's easier to trade a #1 pick or some prospects. That leaves the draft and trades and with the prospect pool not seeming to be impressive, trades are that much tougher. Trades are already tough in the NHL and the 3 point games. I'm also looking at players like Bailey, Eberle, and even Lee. They have not exactly dominated in the playoffs. Isles need a lot to go right with the current team. - ses111
I would rather trade for an RFA than hope to sign a UFA this summer. They don't sign here.... it is what it is.. give me someone who is either already signed or restricted. |

These players have shown they can score during the regular season. Playoffs are an entirely different story and many of these players have struggled in their playoff career. During the playoffs you need multiple players going offensively. |

But itโs Zajac. - Cptmjl
The easy way out is to say " Let's wait until next year".
For me if you want to build off last years 2nd round loss you need to improve. 25th over all pick isn't making your team and improving them now or probably not even for a couple years or later. At that point in time Boychuck's in a wheel chair, Baily is done, Nelson, Leddy are not in their prime, along with Eberle. There's an entry draft to deal with and no one knows what the future will bring as far as injuries or even chemistry of the team moving forward. The cap with Pulock and Barzal etc. may also be restrictive moving forward. With that said the time to win is now.
We need to move forward and add to this team while we are in a position to compete, which I 100% think we can. Especially if we add at the TDL and the team goes on a roll late in the year and or the PO's.like we did in the beginning of the year. Who's to say it can't or won't happen. Definitely none of the handicappers on here that's for (frank)ing sure |

What would you guys think of Isles trading for Getzlaf?
signed for one more year, wins every face off... can still produce when healthy, can't imagine he would cost too much. |

Yep, gotta fit his $4.1M salary next season though which I wouldn't completely rule out as possible. - eichiefs9
Make a run at the Cup this year and worry about the cap next year. There's numerous ways to deal with dumping Cap. Many GM's deal with it yearly and if you win a cup you really could give a phuck. |
