You would think that Flyers fans would learn not to boo Crosby. He torches them every time they do. |

Fair enough. I just like the idea of getting top line players for our expensive garbage. I'd say there are pluses and minuses to either route.
Also, if you think they will be relevant a little longer than 2-3 years, then we should probably try to hang on to as many draft picks and prospects as possible. But...Parise and Suter will not be very relevant at that point, other than their big salaries. - Hockey66
Tojo and I had this conversation a couple of weeks ago.... Having a prospect or two contributing is definitely necessary. It's one of the reasons I'd like to hold on to Legare and Poulin. If they're trading picks and prospects, I'd like to see them get younger guys with term.

Well, it's just hard to infuse good young players while keeping high draft picks and prospects (i.e., good young players) and getting rid of our useless / expensive players at the same time. You have to give to get so there will be sacrifices somewhere. - Hockey66
Im ok with trading some picks for good young players like Rakell etc.. like the Brassard/Sheahan and whatever picks it was for McCann/Bjugstad was a good trade for us. I think we can package Bjugstad and a pick and Addison to the Ducks for Rakell as another example. As you can tell I like Rakell lol |

I agree, but it's always a tradeoff. Younger guys with term will cost a lot. So we can either decrease the likelihood of a prospect or two contributing by trading away picks / prospects or we can keep those and take on a bad contract while getting rid of our bad contracts. Granted, the contracts of Galch and Bjug are pretty palatable for most teams, but they'll still want a pick and/or prospect for any decent player in return.
Anyway, I'm excited to see what JR has up his sleeve this time. |

But they won't do anything about it under Mike "Just Play" Sullivan. So it will probably happen again (or worse). |
