Nah his 2nd job is running a cult of morons that defend his god awful play. - Feds91Stammer
Nah, his second job is living in people heads and I heard his hobby is collecting hate. So many people love donating to his collection! |

Personally I wouldn't touch Kane with a ten foot pole. He's far too much of a liability and has cost the Sharks plenty. Everyone else on that list I like and will always gravitate toward players under term, but as I've said I think the Pens should be getting one rental and one player under term this year.
I think Toffoli or Granlund + either Zucker, Tatar or Saad would be great. I don't bring up Hoffman because I'll believe he gets traded when I see it. - Rinosaur
Maybe Kane will be better now that he is going broke and being sued by casinos He is banned from multiple casinos in Vegas now. Guess a lot of people here wanted him when the sharks got him though just not the player id ever want.... Gambling half a mill in debt with a playoff game the next day... |

Seems like a great guy that’s focused on winning |

Tatar > Zucker - Feds91Stammer
I'd say theyre pretty close. Zucker is cost controlled for more years. And if the Wild are interested in Bjugstad, that would be better than trading 1st/top prospect. |

I refuse to acknowledge this sort of negativity. As a fan of a team that is largely successful due to winning a couple draft lotteries I find your post to be extremely insensitive. The league is better when Detroit is good. You have been reported. - Feds91Stammer

Drouin and Gallagher will help next year provided they stay healthy. I don’t think they are too far from competing. It just doesn’t help when more than likely 5 metro teams are playoff bound so you need to crack that top 3. - 10inchTerror
I think Montreal can be in the mix for a playoff spot as constructed, but not a contender. |

Zucker is also locked up longer and younger. Would be real nice to get a winger that we can just have for the remaining time we have before Crosby, Malkin, and Letang become skating corpses. My list probably goes:
1. Zucker
2. Tatar
3. Saad
4. Kreider
5. Hoffman
6. Toffoli
7. Kane - Victoro311
Not a bad list of guys that have at least been credibly linked to being available. Otherwise Rakell or Craig Smith would be closer to the top of my list.
I look at it this way...most of the players you listed are in the same echelon. I'd prioritize it by:
- Years of control
- Whether we could trade Bjugstad or Galchenyuk as part of the deal
- Fit (including when Jake gets back) |

So 1 stud and 6 mediocre guys. Weird list. - Feds91Stammer
Aren’t you the main dude that always shoots down trade proposals for good players because we don’t have enough amo? |

Nope. You definitely have the wrong guy. I might shoot down the scraps for a good player offers. |

btw - what happened to Adam Lowry? he is usually mentioned every TDL...and I dont watch WPG games but I just noticed he has atrocious metrics. Was he actually being propped up by Tanev? |

But I heard all off-season it was the other way around!
Actually with that defense, it's hard to have good metrics. |

Could of been that as a duo they succeeded. I’ve always liked Lowry but I haven’t paid much attention to Winnipeg this year. But as mentioned above losing all top 4 dmen will be a hit to the team. |

As a team they dropped like 5% in xGF%, add to that the loss of someone like tanev and I can see his numbers dropping that much. |

Scraps is kinda all we got. Addison and Hallendar are good for us prospects, but I don’t think they’re that impressive for the rest of the league. |

It also comes down to what other teams are willing to give up. Them having better prospects doesn’t necessarily mean they’re willing to give up better ones than the Pens. |

Haha... yes true. Though finally I don't think he's a need anymore. We have a competent 3C (two of them actually) + a shutdown line.

If I recall part of the reason he went for less was because teams weren't allowed to negotiate an extension. |

Back to back 20 goal seasons and 3 shorties in each of the last 3 seasons... He might not actually be that cheap. But he could be a good center add that way we can keep McCann at wing. |

Either way it doesn’t take a ton to get guys.
Nyquist while not a star player went for a 2nd and conditional 3rd.
Johansson went for a 2nd and a 4th.
Zuc went for a 2nd and a 3rd.
These were all pure rentals but you can see that you can get quality forwards for cheap. |
