Exactly! I haven't given this team $1 since 2001 when i went to watch a game live. If more people did the same thing, we'd see a different product on the ice. They're hitting us where it hurts, so we need to hit them in the only place that hurts.....the wallet. You know, since they can sit on $8 million in cap space each of the last 3 seasons......Adding insult to injury.
And MB referencing the St. Louis Blues.....this organization is an embarrassment iving in the past to a fault. - Snots33_77
When your whole strategy revolves around your goalie doing miracles night after night, you just aren't qualified to be a GM. When the goalie is your highest paid player then something is wrong with your understanding of what makes a winning hockey team.
This team has been drafting poorly for years and not developing players like they should ... that's on the GM for failing to recognize this earlier and for failing to put the right people in charge of those departments.
He addressed the development part when he fired Lefebvre last year but ... Timmins is still in charge of drafting, looking at Timmins' track record, I would have fired him a long time ago. We are in this position these days (not making the playoffs repeatedly) because of these poor decisions over the years.
How many players in our current lineup have been developed by the team and how many have been acquired through transactions? |

Only players that are excelling were acquired through trades. It's an old boys club. And to give you goalie that poops the bed months at a time consistently, then gets hot when it doesn't matter makes that contract worse. How many Novembers and Decembers can an already mediocre team sacrifice??
And this team has never needed a President of Hockey Operations more than now!! MB, Timmins and Molson are clueless and it's more than evident!! |

Im with you, i dont see any way this team makes the playoffs but i fear bergevin will still want to try, no matter how unlikely it is - Karine Hains
This is the fear we all live with daily with this clueless clown! He's inept, stubborn, ignorant, pompous and we all suffer from his pride.
If he does do something stupid...i hope it's such a spectacular failure that there's no question that this regime gets ousted in the most embarrassing fashion. |

You were my guy all along kick!!
My only fear is that you'll make Weise captain and resign him for 8 years??
EDIT: You'd love my new puppy! Picked him up this weekend. Probably why i'm cranky.....drove for a total of 28 hours through one of the worst winter storms that covered 4 states and i've had about 9 hours sleep in 3 days if i'm lucky??
But he's so cute! 17.5 lbs at 8 weeks old. He's a tank. |

Cap space is an asset. No need to spend it when the core is not good enough anyways |

It’s a wait and see what kind of gas he has in his tank when mid March rolls in. If he takes under $1M for next season then maybe keep him. - Tee56
I wouldn't care how low he would sign for. The only way I don't trade him at the deadline is if the offers are trash. The longer he stays producing like he is, the more in demand he will be. SOME contender will part with something sensible in the hopes he increases their playoff chances. I don't think it is a debate at all. The Habs are rebuilding and not a playoff team at this time. You flip him for the best assets you can get. Period. |

Hete’s where i stand on the kovalchuk debate...
He’s super washed up but got signed because the habs are super desperate because they’re super shtty.
Actually there isn’t anything to debate when you objectively think about it. |

So you're saying you're a fool arguing with yourself and your asinine thoughts? Glad you were able to talk your way through that and save us all the effort in having to point it out |
