Tarasenko! that's his name!
yeah, not sure MB would trade him to BOS, but why not if it's the best offer they get. - fidopro
Point is a lot of teams are looking to add a top 6 winger. Like most of the teams, like all the time.
Most people thought the guy was finished. |

Trade kovy and try to bring him back. Smart asset management
Trade Domi since we have depth at center for a legit top line D
Trade Petry since hés in his prime and will fetch a big return...hé ain’t getting any Younger and try to bolster the d group
Keep Tatar since at 29 he can still offer many years with his unique style and ability to make his line one of the best in the league both sides of the puck. |

Most likely, yes.
I don't think fans will like the return....but it's better than letting walk for nothing. |

My take on the 'ol Chuker is simply this : If his play continues to be as strong as it currently is, and we don't get a No Miss trade offer, let him stay, don't sell low just for the sake of selling. Even if we're not going to the playoffs, he can help mentor some of the kids who will see some playing time. When can we honestly say we have had a scorer of his talent level on our team for our kids to learn from? Kovalev? Damphousse? We haven't. We've gotten real lucky with some trades, and some drafting, but nothing really resembling a superstar outside of the pipes.
If he *does* stay, then offer a 1 year, bonus laden contact. I said it in the last thread, but don't underestimate the power of Kovalchuk's ego. He's loving it here, because he's suddenly "The Man" again. The crowd (and press) are heaping praise and attention on him...and he's been deserving of it so far, as well. But Montreal fans (and press) can be fickle, and what happens when he slumps some remains to be seen. I can see him signing some sweet sponsorship deals if he stays hot and in town. Time will tell. |

Jesus Christ! This team has got to be the joke of the league. What a total embarrassment. There's only 1 thing to do. SELL.
Anyone clinging to any amount of hope this year, or think they should add (or keep a selfish player ruining our chances like Kovy) have rocks in their head.Someone that bails on their entire team is good to mentor the kids now?
Just play the (frank)ing kids and get what you can for anyone with value (i'd also add to keep anyone that's part of the plan...but...what plan??). BTW, Injuries aren't why this team sucks. 7-8 players had career years last year and we still missed the playoffs. Put the Kool-Aid down.
Scorched earth policy. Don't mean to go all rob21 but enough is enough.

Exactly! I haven't given this team $1 since 2001 when i went to watch a game live. If more people did the same thing, we'd see a different product on the ice. They're hitting us where it hurts, so we need to hit them in the only place that hurts.....the wallet. You know, since they can sit on $8 million in cap space each of the last 3 seasons......Adding insult to injury.
And MB referencing the St. Louis Blues.....this organization is an embarrassment iving in the past to a fault. |

Sorry, i know i lost it there. But hearing reports about how MB was waiting to see how this week panned out before he makes his decisions?? That's embarrassing. We won 3 of 4 and moved up 1 point in the standings to a whopping 12th place! What is everyone waiting for?
And BTW....you asked for our opinions so..... |

hey! they signed a guy who was drafted in 2001, who hasn't played since November. he practices 2 times, and becomes their best player right off the bat!
what does that tell you? - fidopro
So embarrassing!
Kovy is a hail mary that gets you to the 50 yard line at best!
What about the fact that some want him resigned because he's the only hope we've had all year....or since Radulov perhaps??? So sad. |
