He's way more valuable as a trading asset IMO. - Garfield512
Getting 20-25 goals is more valuable than a late-round 2nd round pick, IMHO |

We agreed to trade his ass and if he really wants to resign he can do it next summer. And then he comes out of nowhere and disagrees...Really not a team player move. |

He won't maintain that pace forever...trade him while his value is as high as it'll get. |

I guess. But I am still not convinced about this value you're all speaking of.

A year and a half ago the Kings signed him for 3 years and 18M$.
If he keeps playing the way he has, people will still see value in Kovalchuk, just like they back then. |

I fully expect MB to make a trade after the break to give his team another boost...he is not that bright and he is the biggest cheerleader of this group, not the most realistic person.
Playoffs odds at the moment: 3.4%
- Symba007
I know that the odds for the habs of making the playoffs are very low, but they're 8 pts out with 32 games to play, and it gives them only a 3.4% chance? |

Problem is that there are a lot of teams ahead of us fighting for the last playoff spot and they have game(s) in hand. |

yes I'm aware, still you would think it wouldn't be that low... I guess it could go up in a matter of a few days if the trends change (i.e. if a team in front starts losing regularly) |

To be honest, I'm not sure how those odds are calculated.
However, one thing is sure in my mind ... we are out of the playoffs and Bergy should trade accordingly. |

I've been all-in for rebuilding for 3 or 4 years already, and I accepted it will never happen. At that point, I'm just happy that a guy is clicking well in here, at a low cost. Timmins won't draft poop with the 54th overall pick we would get in return. |

Habs won 4 of their last 5. during that time they gained 1 pt in the race. |

so the percentage is low because the habs not only need to win, they need other teams to lose... makes sense I guess |

8 points is nothing, if you only have one team to catch.
if you have 5 teams above of you, it's mearly impossible because they all play againts each other and get points here and there. Habs would have to go like 15-0 to have a chance. |
