Bergevin didn't say the same thing about Subban.
He said he was unlikely to trade him and wasn't looking to trade him... that it was his job to listen.
While he just said to the whole world that Price and Weber won't be traded and that he just wouldn't listen to offers..... because this time... somehow... it's... not.... his job? |

i'm not a Begeron or Bergevin fan at all. but what is he supposed to say? if he says he'll listen, he's opening himself up to endless media speculation which would alienate the 2 players and get their agents involved. there's no benefit to him saying anything else. |
