great.

Dumba's 60 games are more impactful than Noah's 82.

- BINGO!

Straight up maybe not but its not too far off. A million a year in cap savings and an extra year of term on Hanifin has value.

Like Dumba, but wouldn't deal Hanifin for him - almost the exact same offensive production, and I think there's tradeoffs to both guys. Think Hanifin has better wheels, Dumba is little more physical.

If it was Brodie+, or Hammer+ (prospects in either case), I'd be all over it. Cost certainty for a couple of years at a reasonable(ish) cap hit and a right shot guy. He's exactly the type of player that Tre should be pursuing.

would still be better to keep hammer/brodie. as we have to leave some D unprotected for Seattle. Don't really see the need to trade for any D (unless prospects that are 2-3yrs out fill the farm, thats where they're shallow in D)

What do you think Hammers next contract looks like?

He is just finishing the lone term deal he signed with NYI which the last few years was well below market value so I bet he is looking for 6 plus per.

Stones off the books next year, and they'll resign Kylington. Valimaki needs to show he can play a full season before they bank on him.

I think he'll get a 2-3yr deal. $6mil is too much considering what Hanifin signed for. maybe $5.25 for 3 years. If he asks for more, I guess Brodie stays.

Anderson, Hanifin, Valimaki(depending how he does next year) will be protected. Or swap in Gio. So really they need hammer on a 3yr deal to cover any loss of D in the draft (same with Brodie). I think its a D that we'll lose to Seattle- Gio or Kylington most likely. Leaving the Flames with a core of Anderson, Hanifin, Valimaki, Gio Or Kylington and possible Hammer and Brodie. Not much in the farm so they don't need to leave space open over next 2-3yrs.

But they need to start filling the farm on D again. I think this year they make moves for playoffs, and next year they have to be thinking about the future before prospects in all positions dry up. They'll need to refill in 3yrs when those big pay checks are up for renewal.

Yeah not saying I don’t like Hanifin at all, just Dumba has a higher compete level, like the physical edge he brings. Not far off but won’t be 1for 1.

If they're not right-handed, willing to play physical (without being slow as an ox), and have a good shot then I don't care.

It's a specific ask but it's the piece they need.

Josh Anderson is my dream target.

Were on the same page K-man.

Interesting trade proposal though when you compare the 2.
Hanifin born 1997, TOI 21:25, 5G, 9A, 14PTS, Salary 4.95 million
Dumba born 1994, TOI 22:42, 3G, 11A, 14PTS, Salary 6 million

Given his injury riddled season the Blue Jackets would be selling low and now that they are back in the playoff race I doubt they move him.
I think he is still hurt too.

Trade deadline acquisitions???

More like re-build.

Horrible goaltending and depth.

Forget about adding...time to get grampa giordano one of those able walkers.

Seriously...is lucic the worst hockey player in the league? Top 3???
