Didn't Bogosian let Eichel live with him and his family during his rookie year?

Namesnitkov had 31 points for the Rags and even with them retaining salary he still is a $3.25m cap hit. He was traded after playing just 2 games with NY this season. We would not have been able to make that trade with them because they were not looking to take salary back.
Fabbri could have worked, however he has had issues with staying healthy. After an ACL tear he had a separated shoulder and only played 32 games last year scoring 6 points. When he was healthy he was scratched several times. Good for him getting a second chance in Detroit, but with his 11g and 12a in 41 games you also get his -22. When St Louis traded him he had 1g in 9 games while getting 65% Ozone starts.

Good info, I see it differently though

The Sabres have a need for 4 of 6 Middle Six positions, as identified earlier. Skinner and Mojo (for next season, possibly longer) are the only two worthy of consideration. Mojo should be playing 3LW IMO. They need incremental upgrades. Yet, Bott's is given excuses that trades can't be made because his trash is useless...these trades show that opportunity does exist.

I'd excuse the Namestnikov miss due to the Cap Hit but an AHL/NHL Dman was available (Nelson or Gilmour) that I believe negates that argument.

Isn't it interesting that Stevie Y was able to sift through the risk with Fabbri. And he's playing with Erne 2pts, -18) and Glendening (9pts, -15)
As for +/- ... I'm sure you looked at Detroit's roster and stats and noticed 17 if their top 20 skaters are minus players...10 of them over -15...and 2 over -30. There is 1 skater with 20 games who us negative, and he is a 0. Laughably, -18 ain't all that bad for a guy (on pace for 55sh points if full season with Detroit) on that team, lol. More than ever, in this case I'd leave the +/-out if this argument

A miss? I ask how so:

Do we know whether we had an asset in order to make the trade? Just because a trade was made does not mean the same trade could have been made by any other teams, other than the ones that were involved.
If it is a draft pick, regardless of round, was the Sabres draft pick in the right place?
Do people trust Botts?
Does Botts trust the other GMs?
Who knows if they offered a trade and it was not accepted by the other side?

Missed I think is a deceptive description.

I am on the side of, these moves did not fit for the Sabres for whatever reason - including the fact that these players were not on our radar.

- TC4145

If you look at the assets given up, Yes, I think the assets were / are there...but subjective for sure.
Sounds like alot of excuses for golden boy.

Here's the deal, while I like a fair amount of what Botts has done, he isn't without blame. People say players likeSheary, Vesey, Erod etc all not producing as expected, how was he to know.
Simply, it is his job and he needs to be accountable for both the good, the bad, and the misses.

Krueger has done nothing with this team, even Ted Nolan could do better since there is more talent now than before. Any of the coaches that were recently fired would do a better job than Krueger. Ralph is no good. The team seems content on being mediocre. It is so bad that everyone comments on the Bills now instead of the Sabres. Even the fan base has given up. Sad, so very sad.

FWIW, from an interview after Bogo asked for a trade, "Zach’s been my best friend since I met him,” Eichel said in KeyBank Center. “You never want to imagine your best friend leaving you. It’s tough to think about.”

Fair, but i also can’t assume Kaiser is turning down meals he feels are good either

Take bratwurst and stewed sauerkraut for example
89 has said we’ve made enough,
but Kaiser wants A LOT

I’m more than ok not eating “a lot” for him

Sometimes the best move you make is NOT making Kaiser mad.

- jdfitz77

Listen. This constant ribbing on Kaiser’s weight issue isn’t very nice. The guy is overweight, get over it.

Actually, Namestnikov played mostly LW with Tampa
For example, in the ONE year he was good, Stamkos was his center

But don’t let facts stop ya

- jdfitz77

Wrong again!
The facts are, and backedup by the eye test since I started watching The Bolts as my 2nd favorite team back in 2015-2016 season...
Bolts had and have a penchant for moving guys around, line changes, position changes and so forth. Namestnikov played LW and C, he played with several players, at C alot with Kucherov on the Right, Stamkos mostly on the Left but also Palat even Douin. Yes, he and Stammer moved back and forth at LW and C as well.

He played LW with Stamkos the entire season he was traded in
Which was his only good season

If he was so good at Center,
he’d be playing there now on a terrible Ottawa team

And as previously pointed out by various other posters, with various other points,
he was not a fit here whatsoever

What is even the point of all this coulda, shoulda, woulda anyways?

No one on here is saying Botts is GM of the year

What do u get out of the constant complaining?

He's not having a great year, still on pace for 50 points, but the Coyotes are weird; they don't give anyone ice time. Their leader is Hall with 18:42, Stepan is the only other forward over 18:00 with 18:01, Kessel is third with 17:38.
