Trading Henrique for Okposo would save almost $15M in real dollars. Okposo’s cap hit is $200K more. That’s a huge win for Anaheim I’d think. - Pegullaville
Not sure where you got 15 mil but after this season he’s owed $23.3 and Okposo is owed $14.
Sorry for the absence folks, work and school are hard, should have something up soon.
Also, if you're interested in some info on Henrique, I listed him as a potential option in an article i wrote before starting here.
As someone else mentioned, Anaheim do operate with an internal cap and there is an opportunity to send Okposo the other way since his actual salary in the last two years of his deal drops to 4 mil. Anaheim could potentially save 9+ mil
Good read. A Henrique for Okposo swap with a small sweetner seems fair to both teams. The Ducks save a pile of cash while Buffalo gets their interim 2C. Bonino would be great but as your article points out, what exactly are the Preds going to do?

Well I disagree with that. But I agree with you that trading for him now given his contract situation and the Sabres position in the standings doesn't make much sense.
I'd be after him in the summer though. The sabres will need to fill 4 middle 6 spots - jcragcrumple
He should be our 2C. He was drafted to be a C. It's actually unacceptable to me that they dont give him an extended look there. Time to see if he can produce away from Eichel. - BeadyEyedDouche
I think they should at least take a look at him there
If it works, problems solved
If not, put him back at RW
What??
Henrique is on pace for 43pts
If we are trading for a guy with this type of production,
then he’s gotta have a shorter term left on his contract
There’s no need to be locked into a guy like that

Cody Hodgson easily could've been on the team for the last 4 years of his deal, he would've retired the year after the buyout anyway, and now he wouldn't cost $800K against the cap for 3 more years.
