He should be our 2C. He was drafted to be a C. It's actually unacceptable to me that they dont give him an extended look there. Time to see if he can produce away from Eichel. |

Do you have anything to add to the topic at hand regarding the potential 2C targets, or just more female doging about me?
Goddamn. I am living rent free in your head.

give up because he could not produce with Griffith and Pouliot playing 12 minutes a night
all jokes aside, pretty sure it's a lack of wheels issue |

Thought I'd bump this to get the offseason 2C pursuit cinco back on track...
To address the 2C in the offseason (assuming no TDL trade for 1 this year), what strategy would you prefer for Botts to take?
A) short-term placeholder for a year or 2, allows Cozens and Mitts ample time to develop into the 2C. This falls into 2 sub categories:
i) older vet say 32+ who can still deliver ~50 pts, cost say $6.5m - 7.5m
ii) middle age player who us more a 2/3C Tweener, puts up 45sh pts, for $3.0- $4.0m
B) long-term, younger, core-complimentary player, capable of 65-75 pts, cost at say $6.0m - $7.0m; let the chips fall as they may for Mitts and Cozens...figure out the W2C as those guys emerge in 2 years, potentially trade the extra 2C at that point - IonSabres

C'mon, c'mon. You want quality, not the Boninos or Galchenyuks or Bjugstadts of the world, which is fair. So what are you giving up? |

This season is all but lost without a true impact player.
I'll start by offering Florida our 1st for Trocheck. If it's not lottery protected, I bet it gets done in a vacuum. However, I don't think any team with playoff aspirations are giving up true impact centers. So here we are, waiting for the end of the season to get a real player. |

If that trade happens after the draft lottery then sure.
Florida is in the playoffs if they started today, they're not moving him until the off-season (if at all)

Hertl? Rakell? Kopitar? Zibanijad?
What reason do their respective teams have for giving those guys up? |

Well Kopitar is not getting any younger, so Kings could look to get a return for him now before he declines in a couple years to the point where it will be much harder to move.
I can’t see why those other players would be moved though. |

I know what's coming next, Crag. Do something small or nothing at all. Unless we get an asset back to use for next season and/or beyond.. why bother. What does it actually do for us to bring in a lump to score 10 points for the rest of the season. |

I dont think that's enough, personally
Let's say we're at the draft picking 11th
Mittelstadt and 11 is the starting point imo |

yeah, maybe. He also has a NMC. He also makes 10M. He's also 32. He waives, LA takes 3M back.. I take that. But for what, a lottery protected 1st and a pair of prospects? I'd make that happen. Would never happen before the OS. |

I would think the Sharks would move others before Hertl but maybe I’m wrong. |

I'm all for going big. I'd absolutely trade Mittelstadt and a 10ish OA pick for a good player.

Easy - the Sabres have a need to fill at 2C and the Sabres are offering garbage in return. All teams want to help the Sabres out of their predicament. I'm surprised the deals for any of these players haven't been announced already by the Sabres.

I personally don’t think it makes much sense for the Sabres at all. I thought I was just answering your question in terms of why LA would move him, perhaps I misunderstood. |
