I’ve said it before...
the 2C we’re looking for is gonna be either Mitts or Cozens (or both)

We aren’t gonna become legit contenders until those guys grow into the really good players they’re projected to be

In the meantime,
i like that Botts is trying to bring in guys without spending major assets (for the most part) that could help us make the playoffs

Most of the guys he’s brought in haven’t been a hit yet... Berglund, Sobatka, Vesey, Sheary, etc...
But he’s got another shot at it this summer,
with almost all our bad contracts off the books


I know a lot of ppl will lose their sh!t even more if he can’t trade for a “2C”
But i think it’s unlikely...
And I’m actually ok with that

I don’t need us to rush to 8th at the expense of hurting us long term
Gotta keep our eye on the prize
And that’s a Cup, not a 1st round whipping

And let’s keep in mind all the kids that “should” be ready next year...
Mitts, Cozens, Asplund, seem like locks
Tage & Ruotsalainen are strong possibilities as well
Plus... Pilut on defense, and Borgen & Bryson ready for call up action

Yes, Botts has made mistakes
But i still think we’re moving in the right direction

Ullmark is 24th in the league with a .914 sv%. That's 19th with goalies with 10 or more games. Tough to blame him for the losing when guys like David Rittich, Freddie Andersen, Phil Grubauer and Jordan Binnington have worse numbers.

The bigger issue is the fact Hutton can’t stop a beach ball and start more games to give Ullmark a break.

Ullmark isn’t a problem, don’t know if he’s been a solution either.

When you are one of the best defensive teams in the NHL at limiting high danger scoring chances, and control shot shares more often then not, I’d like for my goaltender to not have slightly below average goaltending statistics.

Tristan Jarry and Elvis Merzilkins play on teams that are slightly better then Buffalo defensively and look at their numbers. (All three teams are in the top 6 the last time I checked a week and a half ago)

Um every rb back that has 13000+ rushing yds in the NFLthat is eligible for the HOF is in there.

I’m curious to who you’re speaking of?

My best guess is James. But he doesn’t have 145 td’s nor the return yds.

even if you just go by his nfl stats, he has more rushing yards then terrell davis, plus 5,000 return yards to go with it
and almost 5,000 receiving yards

literally has 18,000 all purpose yards in the nfl and 7,000 yards in the usfl

Moving McCabe for him and a 2nd round pick isn't a bad idea though

Gets a 2 C even for the rest of the season and a 2nd round pick

Not exactly a move that really moves the needle but considering Haula's injury filled season he isn't going to be looking for a massive raise.

Could just wait until the offseason as well but I'd like to get him in here now and see what he could do for the next 30 games and see if it's a fit

It was a running joke around here for some time

But yes he would help be that temporary 2 C until one of Cozens or Mitts is ready
