2 things
-RNH has 1 year left after this season. The Oil are the same as Sabres needing secondary scoring, I don't see them moving him...although he would fill a need nicely here.
-You and 89 have said the same about not wanting to add anything big until they understand Reinhart and Montour contracts...so I believe it...but don't understand where the uncertainty comes in. I would think by now the have run models and talked to their agents for rough idea of demands of $'s and term. I would hope, with Bott's background he should have a pretty tight range. - IonSabres
it all leads to the fact that this season is a throw away... yet again. If they don't make the playoffs next season i don't know what to say. They are gonna have some major issues with the fans and selling seats |

if we move sheary and/or vesey at the TDL can we bring that guy over to play in the NHL from europe or was that an all or nothing move when he went back? - SabresFaninIndiana
I'm not sure how that works but he's having a real good year for Ilves. He's 2nd on his team in scoring and top 30 in the league. |

Thanks for the info clown.
Would Girgs and Larsson be back? I hope we move on from those two, especially considering how good Lazar has been. I don't see Vesey or Sheary back and maybe one or both could be moved at the TD. I would like to see Ruotsalainen get a shot. I think next year's forward group is gonna be young.
LD- De Haan, Ghost, Brodin, Maata or maybe Ryan Lindgren from the Rags. I know this is probably a reach on a few but ya never know. If Erik Gustafsson hits FA, I would make a play for him. - mhp
Also bad at actual defense. I'd hope for a better McCabe. |

This offseason obviously is a huge opportunity, much like last offseason for the Bill's in remaking their roster. The difference is the guaranteed nature of contracts in the NHL versus guarantees in the NFL are negotiated and usually only partially guaranteed.
That makes it far more critical for Botts to be very smart when bringing new players in.
He will have a poop-ton of work ahead of him, which increases the risk of errors or just plain misses/lost opportunity. |

That's fair. My brain is melting.
Could Vesey/Sheary be a piece that would help them now?
They are second in the division, and obviously just one or both of them will not be enough, but could it be a starting point? |

He needs to start now, honestly.

Interesting. That's a strange move, but he hasn't really hit his stride since Sobotka went down |

Don't know how this would look to FA signing here. He signed for reasonable money and was great at the beginning of the year. That's like holding up a sign saying "Sign here and we'll trade you." |

If Sobotka was his driving factor of production, then maybe he isn't worth being here? |

I said it then, I'll say it again. Was it frustrating not seeing DPR getting points? Sure. Was he doing the dirty work for that line (going into corners, retrieving the puck, distributing that lead the line to succeed) you bet your ass he was. Do you want Skinner going into the corners or firing the shot? MoJo isn't going to outmuscle many D-man worth their salt in the corners either. That line, each person had a defined role and they, for the most part, were doing it quite well. When DPR went down, so did the line. |

My point is that Johansson needing Sobotka to be aggressive to generate offense rather than him being able to do it on his own, is a problem.
Skinner has the ability to generate his own offense. |

That's just a silly take. Linemates always feed off each other. There's maybe like 30 guys that can do it on their own. And to expect the guy who was signed to play 3rd line center/2nd line winger to be one of them is just a bad take imo. |

currently who are johansson linemates? sherry and vesey? that is 3rd line quality at best.. and if they were a 3rd line i don't think people would be complaining as much.. but that is the saddest 2nd line in the NHL |
