The Gallant firing was a little bizarre. I doubt it's done if they don't have Deboer. Team defense is certainly better. Heck, even Risto is taking fewer moronic penalties.

You could be right that this team isn't too far away. Although, I suspect it's easier to go from bottom-feeder to where-we-are-now, than where-we-are-now to playoff success.
