“How can you say that this loss is entirely in Andersen? Keefe played mind games on Andersen that’s why he is letting goals in” - Santo_44
You gotta set the bar lower. If you're coming here expecting to find people who know what they're talking about, you've (frank)ed up before you opened the page. |

I look forward to the over-analyzing of the All-Star game and how it leads to Leafs speculation. |

...I see Didn't they do that about Price awhile back? That allowing so many goals would (frank) him up? I haven't watched the ASG since like 2015. |

The all star game means no more than the mini stick games they have with their kids/friends kids.
I’d even bet the mini stick games get more competitive. |

It has nothing to do with Freddy. At full strength the Leafs d is mediocre. Certainly not good enough to win in the playoffs. If they get injuries, they are exposed for the lack of depth they have.
Side note: Liligren looked like crap last night.

Kappy, Bracco, 2nd for Dumba, Stalok(for all you Bracco value haters I’d use Robertson in this trade to make it happen)
Add in Ceci to make the cap work.
Timo for Clifford or Lewis
Hyman-Matthews-Marner
Engvall-Tavares-Nylander
Johnnson-Kerfoot-Moore
Clifford/Lewis-Spezza-Goat
Mikheyev pushes someone down to goats spot when he comes back.
Muzzin-Holl
Rielly-Dumba
Dermott-Barrie
Sandin(call up if an injury occurs)
Marincin eats popcorn
Andersen
Stalok

I think the deal works without Robertson...but I’m making a point. I’d use Kappy and any prospect not named Lil and Sandin. |

I’d keep Robertson over Liljegren. But I get it. Forward strength over defence strength. |

I think it’s a lot easier to find cheap found wallets at forward.
Moore and Mikheyev are perfect examples.
I think Kappy and Bracco gets it done...I’d overpay slightly if needed though. 25 year old RHD and he’s available...why not. |

Lilgroin looks like he's still 2 years away, at least. Sandin on the other hand looks pretty comfortable. |

It has a lot to do with Freddie, and his numbers in December and January confirm as much. 3 gold against on 6 shots last night.
It may not be 100% Freddie, but to say it has nothing to do with him would make you a complete meatball who knows nothing about hockey. |

At this point if it's apparent that Muzzin is back for NSH then perhaps now is the time to flip Barrie for the pieces needed to acquire a backup and a Dman who isn't a total brainfart.
If we could land a 2nd for Barrie or just straight flip him to a team that needs a PP QB and has a shutdown Dman I'd do it.
I'd also be in favour of moving one of Kapanen or Johnsson and a mid pick to NYR for Georgiev. At least opening up a roster spot to see what we have in Bracco would be useful. |

Matthews refuses to backcheck and play defense, and he's the Leafs leader? Great role model for how to hang your goalie out to dry. Has anyone on the Leafs told Matthews that its OK to skate into his own end? He was -4 and it looked sad at how out of position he was on the majority of the Hawks goals. During the next 10 days instead of flying out of Toronto.(not that I blame them), and sleeping on beaches, playing golf or scaring security guards the Leafs should stay in Toronto and practice backchecking. - islansjet
Matthews will probably never be their best defender.
He is not the problem lately with this team.
Injuries are an big issue. Ander5en being poop is another issue.
Keefe nailed it with the team being immature. This team does not have any big boy pants to put on as soon as they face adversity. |

Barrie is worth way more than a 2nd, if nothing else he would fetch a huge deadline return due to his salary alone.
Also, Georgiev and his career GAA above 3.00 are very overrated. Would never trade a young 20G forward for him. Ever. |

We aren't keeping Barrie beyond this year. So why not flip him for something that will actually be useful in the coming years. It'll open up some PP time for Rassy & Timmy, which is their strengths. |

He could have let in 3 goals on 3 shots. It's the quality of shots and whether he had a chance. He had nothing to do with the loss last night. He did however, suck balls in game seven last year. The d was, and has been the number one problem as many of us knew long before the season started. Look at how many goals this team has let in and people thought they were a contender. Insanity.
When the Leafs play Boston in the first round and lose again, or they miss the dance altogether it will fall squarely on Dubas for not addressing this glaring and obvious to almost everybody need.
Now the same guys who said they were winning the cup this year are making trade proposals for stay at home d men. Everyone gets it now, you should too. |

That part I agree with. He needs to go on that basis alone.
I just don't see it getting into a situation where we had to settle for a 2nd. |

Andersen had a chance on every single goal last night.
Wrap around are the lowest percentage shots in hockey. Horrible goal.
Teows and Saad went fivehole and blocker from outside the slot.
Breaking down goals is stupid regardless. Andersen didn’t do his job which is to make tough saves.
“Not his fault” is such a stupid and easy way out for a goalie. Goalies make multiple tough saves a game and Andersen did not.
He sucked last night. |
