Those shots happen multiple times a game.
Crawford had no problem stopping those prime shots.
As a goalie its your job to make some tough saves throughout the game. Especially when its your starter who makes 5 million.
He's not just there to make the easy saves. - Santo_44
Awesome .. clearly all Andersen's fault. I'm sure that would serve as great motivation for Freddie...
blame the coach
Blame the goalie
But never blame the sweathearts...
And heaven forbid anyone question the guy who assembled this collection of flakes

For starters, get Marincin the F off of this team. Was never an Andersen fan and he is proving why, too inconsistent and never was a clutch goaltender. Put Hyman in the bottom 6 where he belongs, for every good game he has, he has 5 where he does nothing in the offensive zone. |

I never once said it’s all Andersen’s fault.
It’s the go to line for people when they don’t like it that he is being criticized.
I’ll spell it out for you.
Andersen has been bad. He is contributing to losses but it’s not all his fault. |

I’ve never witnessed games with so many 2 on 1’s and breakaways in my life. Our style is awesome when it works, but when we bobble it or turn it over it’s an automatic grade A 2 on 1 or breakaway. We’ll win playing that way if we put 2 goalies in the net maybe.
🤷🏻♂️ - Garnie
I can't say you're wrong on the opportunities given up. But with or without them, last night alone Fred gave up at least 4 goals I would consider to be soft. That's a common theme. Bernier level goals.
I get it, he makes more saves than he should have to. But that doesn't excuse him from not making the saves he should... |

Her husband is from Brazil...I understand him much better.
I had to ask my wife what it meant. She knew right away. |

Perfect fit.
A slight risk due to his play this season but it’s why he’s being shopped.
Jump on the opportunity.

Matthews refuses to backcheck and play defense, and he's the Leafs leader? Great role model for how to hang your goalie out to dry. Has anyone on the Leafs told Matthews that its OK to skate into his own end? He was -4 and it looked sad at how out of position he was on the majority of the Hawks goals. During the next 10 days instead of flying out of Toronto.(not that I blame them), and sleeping on beaches, playing golf or scaring security guards the Leafs should stay in Toronto and practice backchecking. - islansjet
Laine > Matthews. By far!!!!!!! |

I don’t see the 4 soft, but anyways...1 or 2 IMO
Against FLA was even worse and again almost all easy opportunities and bar and in on most again.
Oh well, they ALL need to be ready after the break...missing the playoffs could prove very embarrassing for some people I would think.

100% agreed.
I do think when they're getting lit up like that it's easy to forget how good the team looked when they were close to full health.
Full health and maybe a tinker move and I think we forget about games like these pretty quick. 🤷♂️ |

Dude.
No one is saying the Leafs haven’t given up chances.
But just because Andersen has an extra quality chance or two doesn’t mean he has an excuse to play like poop.
The stats prove it. He’s not stopping enough shots he should be stopping right now.
Plain and simple he has been bad. Definitely a major contributor to the losses right now.
Is he the only contributor ? (frank) no but it’s a fact he’s not playing well. - Santo_44
You’re not allowed to criticize the goalie ever. None of those goals were stoppable. It’s all Dubas’ fault. Fire everyone. Trade everyone. Blow it up. Rinse and repeat after the next loss. Worst fan base in sports... sigh... |

I know it won't help the situation right now, but I really hope Barrie is traded.
Mostly because it's going to be impossible to find another top pairing RHD without giving up Willie + when Barrie walks away for nothing.
Even if it's just a futures deal, the assets would help trade for one under term without gutting the roster. |

I know Keefe will try (much like the Schlong did), but watching other teams and structures, it's so weird to me that the Leafs still have the exact same zone coverage since 2007 with entirely new players/coaches/etc. |

“Andersen didn’t play well”
Leaf fan
“How can you say that this loss is entirely in Andersen? Keefe played mind games on Andersen that’s why he is letting goals in” |
