IMO, it's a clean slate with Keefe, so I don't think a 1st rd exit is a failure.

I think they are capable of being so much better.. We'll see, I guess.. At least 33 more games to figure this out.

- PatC80

Still early for sure.
Imo, new coach or not, they need to get past the 1st round. Anything less, is a failed season in my books...err notepad......post it note.......ok napkin.

Fortunately, not everyone is laughing.

I guess the playoffs are a crapshoot, but it is optimistic to even believe they make the playoffs and seems dumb at this point to think anything significant happens when they are there.

Well if they make the playoffs, anything can happen.

if he keeps up the way he plays and produces, his fantastic cap hit of 700K will make him pretty valuable at the TDL, all teams against the cap will be able to afford him
- Symba007

Habs will keep him past the trade deadline. Then they will extend him in the off-season and he will suck.

The Habs have contracted Leafs disease. It is incurable, and fatal, sorry.

So lets say they make it.

Would you rather face Tampa or Boston?

I can't believe I am saying this, but for me it is Boston. I have a feeling they get by Boston this time.

Probably stupid blue koolaid.

It's possible, CBJ swept Tampa last year..

When Babs was let go, they were 9-10-4, good for 10th in the East
Since Keefe, they are 16-7-3, and still 10th in the East. It's hard to make up ground.

I think the Leafs can beat the Bruins. I do hope it's not Washington..

Panthers play back 2 back today and tomorrow and will catch up on their 2 games in hand before the all star break.

Atleast we’ll know where the leafs sit come Wednesday morning in the division.

October - bad
November - great
Dec - average
Jan - below average

It's been mediocre for a starter. He gets a long leash though because of his past and that theres more problems ahead of him.

Agreed.

Which is why my trade Barrie approach. I get that on hockeybuzz people seem to think it has to be buying or selling. It's one or the other and there's no in between. But when the team is clearly not going to go deep, I don't see why a smart value sell like Barrie means they are in sell mode and everyone has to go. A team is allowed to make an individual move without being slotted into a category and having to adhere to the internets rules because of it, no?

I’d want TB.

But I’d rather get the WC spot and face WSH or PITT.

St. Louis did this I think 2 years ago? They were IN a playoff spot and the gm traded one or two players and it pissed off the other players.

I doubt Dubas is that ballsy.

Yup.

Matthews, Marner, Willie, Rielly, ect.

They all want to win. They have a nice window to be very competitive....they don’t want them to sell Barrie for a 2nd and a 3rd so they can have a Korshkov in 2025.

They might not even be on the team by then.
