What I love most is that people consider Tampa this great team and they had no more success than the leafs last year.

Yeah they turned it around recently but the leafs also had a 10 game streak of points and wins.

that sucks because he has been the one the Leafs have counted on.
I feel like the Team is rolling pretty well and now the Goalie is not helping

- senstroll

My quiet little prediction is that if the Leafs make the playoffs with all of this adversity, they're going to go on a run and win the cup.

I see the usual was making friends and talking like he knows exactly what is best for this team.

A real rogering.

Gonna be a long week.

Should be a nice troll and koolaid fest up in here!

Lets get it going!

tampa is better than the leafs in basically every area a team can be better

- better forwards (this is the only area that's even close)
- better D
- better goaltending
- better coach
- better GM
- better depth

so am I to believe that you think Rielly will in fact sign for around 7 mil?
- haywoodjablome

Not sure what he signs for and don't care. He makes $5 million for this season and the next two, his production and importance to the team and cap situation will dictate the next contract. Current one is pretty good.

i am still pretty confident they make the playoffs.

but seeing how Freddie has been, trading for a gorgyev seems prudent at this point.

hayhead-jabrone is a scumbag troll that adds negative value to hockey buzz. He's also a coward and ashamed to state the name of the team he cheers for.

Agree with this, depending on the cost.

It shouldnt take a Kap or AJ in a 1 for 1 type deal.
a couple of the lesser prospects like Bracco/Timashov etc..

If its AJ for instance, then there needs to be more back from NYR side

Wait...what? Better GM? You know it's not yzerman right? This guy has been around as long as Dubas in the role.

I'd only argue Tampa has a clearly better Defense. Goalie by a margin.

Yet they have had no more success than the leafs...so even if I gave you they are better. What's their excuse for being swept?

Leafs down to .899 team sv% on the Season. Or around 24th in the League

yeah, that needs to improve

you're right, I completely forgot that Yzerman was gone.......I retract that statement, as the new guy there hasn't proven anything.

the rest of my statement stands

and yes, they did get swept last year, during a 1 in a million cosmic fluke of a run by CBJ........but they have been to the conf finals 2 of the last 4 years, and will be a favorite to do it again this year.....so YES, they have had more success than the leafs

the bolts are as complete of a team as there is in the league.....leafs aren't in the same class

Conference finals mean poop. Still just a loser. I bet they get knocked out by round 2.

Call it whatever you want but it wasnt just one game. They lost FOUR to the blue jackets. Like...ridiculous.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was Timo/Bracco a goalie prospect and maybe a swap of mid picks.

The leafs should be sellers.

Until they have a regular season like the Lignting last year I don’t see how they can win a cup.

Get assets now to replace Matthews and Marner if they walk.

More Carl Grundstroms and Korshkovs. That’s what we need.

Andersen is a bust.

getting knocked out in round 2 would be the biggest accomplishment the leafs organization has had in almost 2 decades, so maybe you shouldn't knock it.

The price for Georgie Porgie Pudding and Pie is through the roof though. I know that's media amplification, courtesy of Darren "Marshall Stack" Dreger and friends, but I don't want to give up top 6 players for goalie voodoo.

It goes to show you how much parity in the NHL there is.

People treat the league like the NBA. The fact is once playoffs starts it’s a free for all.

What was it? 3 out of 4 wild card teams won last year?
