That would be my guess though the article didn't say.

As usual you fail to comprehend anything people here say properly.

1) No one says Stewart is a good signing
2) No one says Stewart is an NHL player

What you fail to understand is Stewart has played 16 games out of 49 games. So yes, he rarely plays. A last era backup goalie plays more than he does. It does no one any benefit to have a young player sitting in the pressbox for 33 games out of 49. A guy like Stewart is a better fit for a 13th guy because he is what he is. There is no developing him, that time has long past. Putting a kid like NAK in as 13th forward prevents him from improving his game. You can only improve through playing.

If you want to say Knight was a better fit for 13th forward by all means go ahead, that is a true fact. However he chose to leave. Perhaps Fletcher has some loyalty to a fault mentality towards Stewart however any problem with the team has nothing to do with him. He is merely a fly on the wall.

It isn't Stewart's fault our goalies have struggled on the road
It isn't Stewart's fault our young Dmen are making mistakes\bad plays
It isn't Stewart's fault Giroux's production is down
It isn't Stewart's fault this team is inconsistent
It isn't Stewart's fault we are up against the Cap
It isn't Stewart's fault NoPa has Migraines and Lindblom has Cancer

You supported Stewart being the 13th forward, nothing you posted changes or refutes that, nor does it say why now, it makes sense for someone else to take the place of the 13th forward. All of the words you typed did not answer the question that I posed.

Thank you

Cal O'Reilly

Kyle Criscuolo

Greg Carey

Fletcher could have signed any of the following (and still can for that matter) who are better options than Chris Stewart:

Versteeg
Chimera
Ward
Pominville
Laich
Stafford
Crombeen
Any opossum found on the side of the road (Dead or Alive)

Another Stewart defender who can not answer how the team will go forward without the "perfect" guy on the roster as the 13th forward

Why would any of those guys sign to sit in the pressbox?

Why would any player "sit" in the press box? What makes you think that Stewart wanted to sit in the press box?

The first three are under contract to the team and would bring skills when inserted in the line-up. Even though people preach the 13th forward does not play, it seems that Stewart saw ice in over 33 % of the games when he was on the Flyers roster.

The rest, opossum included would also bring more skill when inserted into the line-up

Stewart didn't sign with the Flyers until after the season started. I'm pretty sure the Flyers told him what his role was going to be and it was likely he wouldn't play much. If the Flyers were healthier and avoided injuries more, he would've played even less than he has.

How can you POSSIBLY think Stewart signed thinking he was going play a lot?

Is that the source of your argument? If so you are way dumber than I thought you were.

Stewart is a guy coming back to the league knowing he was going to be at best a bit player. That you dont understand this is baffling to me.

If that is the position you are going to take, why would you waste a roster spot on a player who is there to collect a check? Are you honestly saying that Stewart was okay with sitting in a suite night after night? What kind of competitor is that?

you state that a player has no competitive will, understands that he has no chance of playing, is on the team to collect a check, and you question MY intelligence?

That's gold, Jerry, Gold!!!

Yea, that's not what he said. Any player signing onto a team in the situation that Stewart did knows that he might not play a lot.

sigh. i've never defended the stewart signing, or said he'd be a perfect 13th forward.

thanks for playing.
