Thanks Carol, I didn’t think it was the same old Coyotes at all. I missed the first period, but the Yotes were quick to transition to offense, turning the puck over a lot. They had a ton of chances and Markstrom kept it close. I’ll take it, but Jakes goal doesn’t go in against a better goalie. He way over committed on the initial rush and then couldn’t get back to the post. If he’s in better position it isn’t even a shot on goal.

Anyway, good win, great race.

I agree every win needs an excuse and that is as good as any.

They "count" the same but don't "matter" the same. You can only score an empty net goal when you're in the lead, but the others when you're tied or down or up. Nothing wrong with getting that cushion, but one is more important than the other.

And I don't think it's LE that's driving that "defend the lead" bus, it's Bo, but LE is quite sound defensively and props to him he's been doing a decent job with this opportunity.

Not an excuse, as you say, they all count. But there were long stretches where Arizona was the better team. Markstrom was great, Jake got a bit of a break and they managed to bring it home. Earlier in the year, maybe they can’t hold the lead. Maybe coach Green is actually getting through.

It went in is what matters. Helleybuck didn’t exactly earn his shut out. Can nitpick anything & look at the negative side if ppl wish to. A win is a win in the standings no asterisks column.

What gets missed is other than injuries is Utica has much better talent now & the other prospects have picked it up. Project that to the show & he should do well with EP etc.
