@jboyd...
It's probably wishful thinking, but I wouldn't be surprised for the Pens to try and move JJ this off-season now that some of the stink has lifted from him. They'd be able to clear up a lot of room.
If the Pens don't wind up going with Jarry I'd say it's almost definite that JJ gets moved to make room for Murray's extension.
EDIT: Pettersson could also affect JJ's future. If they wind up needing to pay him $4Mish to stay, then JJ could also be on the block. |

Yeah. It was the right move to move him at that time. I believe he would fit right into what this pens teams is trying to do though. Plus he can score and plays like a man. - Grinder47
A lot of the issues Perron had here was that he wasn’t a very good skater and didn’t fit the direction the team was trying to take. He’s a good player but I don’t see him being any better of a fit now than he was back then. |

You're probably right, but let's not forget the Bylsma-effect; he was that master of misusing players. While he's a top-six in STL, I think if he was on the Pens now he'd fit great on the third line with McCann and Hornqvist. |

Perron never played for Bylsma. He played for Johnston and Sullivan. |

Wing is more important than D in my opinion. And top 6 is more important than bottom six hard hitting guy. They need someone to help replace Guentzels production. - j.boyd919

Right. You’re just not gonna get much better than Letang, Marino, and Shultz down the right side, and Dumoulin and Pettersson are a solid top 2 LD. It’s really, really hard to be more than 7 deep at defense unless you have good prospects in the A who are waiver exempt, which we don’t. It’s not worth the assets to try and marginally upgrade this blue line unit when high end wing production could really put us over the top.
Also, not sure why bottom six forward is even being discussed. Our forward depth is great, and specifically the fourth line is an excellent unit. |

Right, we should be targeting top 6. I still love the Rakell idea if the Pens could pull it off. |

Perron is no worse a skater than ZAR. And he can also make plays, score and hits harder than a paper bag. |

@j.boyd919: As Rino brought up the Boro[wiecki] idea: I would be interested in a comparision between him and one of our (thought to be) more mobile 2nd pair options - Schultz... thanks for your help.

I was bringing up ideas for the sake conversation, but because they don’t seem ready to move JJ I just don’t see them trading for a dman unless it was an in-season Schultz replacement then he gets moved out this season which IMO isn’t super likely. |

LMAO - Barnaby36
Let’s be clear, I’m just saying he hasn’t been a dumpster fire like last year. I don’t all of a sudden think he’s good, but he’s at least at the point where he may be easier to move. Not EASY. Easier.
His salary is still an issue and should be moved. |

The only way I see them trading Schultz is for an improvement like Dumba |

I think Martinez is a good situation to view and also an upgrade isn’t necessary with Marino’s emergence. Making a lateral move talent/abiltiy-wise for less money is also an option or simply finding a solid 3rd pairing RD.
There isn’t one scenario here in regards to Schultz. |

Anyone would and it would be worth it. Also, I don’t think JR is only focusing on bringing in one winger if he can move Chuck out. |

I don't know that Ruth will do any moves with the D right now. He'll wait till the deadline so he can asses with Dumo and Schultz back. The only player on the block is Galch. And Bjugstad will get his chance after the all Star break/bye week to see if he fits in on this team. Yea Bjugstad was good last season however we sucked and was a much slower team last year. I don't see Bjugstad working on the wing with this team. |

JR was already rumored to be looking into a winger before Jake went down, so logically you’d think he’s looking for two now. I keep reading however that he can’t find a buyer for Chucky which isn’t shocking. |

Still here in a state of emergency.....day 3. Just me and my little boy. Haven't seen anyone else, or gone anywhere else this whole time but we're having a good time. No one allowed on roads and businesses not allowed to open. Army has been called in for assistance. We were fortunate to of only lost electricity for 3 hours total this whole time, I have friends and family who are going on 48 hours with none at all now and it's currently -21C...yesterday it was -30C. I shoveled 4 hours in total yesterday and only made it to the end of left side of my SUV. The road is still about 9 or 10 feet away from end of driveway, around 5 feet deep and wheres its been ploughed once by the city is about 8 feet high.
A lot of people are really freaking out now over lack of supplies and what not whether it be food, milk, booze or cigarettes but this guy knew with one of the worst storms in history forecasted to stock his house well. 😎
Really looking forward to being able to watch the matinee game with the little guy. The games usually start after hes gone to bed. Hopefully Pens pull out a W. Who's starting in net ya think? |

Wow! I hope that situation gets better. Good thing that’s not when Grinder was going to stay with you to fish! LOL
I got to NJ a few days ago and of course it snowed two days after I got here. No transition from Vegas weather.
I think Murray starts. |

Interesting, I thought that was maybe because Galch sucked. But the the way Kahun turned it around and Rust doing his thing if Jake wasn't injured I would imagine JR only trying to move Galch and then get a winger to replace him. |

Damn man, when is it supposed to stop?! And idk who starts. The Boston loss wasn't on Jarry with two deflection goals. But Murray may be getting back on track as well. |
