Also I was thinking. If the Rangers did move Skjei in the summer....which d man would be exposed then to Seattle? - TPC
it would have to be a guy who isn't here yet |

you guys act like I am making the case that Skjei is playing well - jimbro83
No I completely got it. I don't think the connection is made someone has to play those minutes. I'm all for giving all of our young guys a shot at some point in time. I just want to do it when a majority of the blue line has at least 1 season of NHL experience. People forget even ADA combined only has about 2 full seasons of games |

I understand that, not saying to do it. At some point though, you have to make room for all these young guys or trade them. Joey keane really never gets mentioned with Nils or Miller - rangers425
Don't forget too Keane is on the right side. Your options for left are Rykov and I believe Tarmo playes both sides, but Tarmo is currently in Europe. |

They'd have to sign someone, otherwise by default it would be ADA as the only guy eligible to be taken. |

It would be Lindgren or possibly Hajek if he plays enough games. |

I'm calling it now.
Hank will agree to be traded to Colorado
Skjei is traded for forward prospect and 4th
Smith is traded for 4th rounder
Buch is traded for 2nd rounder
Kreider re-signs
Strome resigns
ADA get 6 year deal at 5.5 - rrentz
If they just made Hank a healthy scratch every night - his competitive nature would get him to accept a trade. How much of his contract do we have to eat though? There is no way CO pays him $8.5M

I think it's actually a good point that TPC makes that perhaps it would keep the Rangers from dealing him |

Rykov plays the right side. He would have to switch |

Actual money next year is 4.5, his cap hit is 8.5. If we paid 2 million, I could see a team finding use for him at 2.5 million. |

The thing that's going to prevent dealing Skjei the most is that whoever trades for hime has to protect him. I looked at other rosters the other day to see who would even be in that position and the list is essentially non existent. Toronto could do it (but have cap issues) and LA might be an option if they sell big and need players to reach the floor. {If they trade Carter, Kopitar, or Doughty they lose a massive amount of salary] |

They won't have to do this (although they still could if trades happen and others are protected). See my post above. |

I was figuring they'd want to protect both of them though
I could see if they have no other options exposing Hajek at this point though |

If it comes down to a choice between them, no way they expose Lindgren |

I'm sure they want to but they are sort of stuck. They have to protect Trouba (and would anyway). They'll protect ADA is he's resigned. So you have one spot for RL, LH, and BS. |

I think we need clarification because I just read this where I see them list Hajek as exempt
