yeah, very good prospect too
- jimbro83

What do you think is going to happen at the TDL?

They are only 6 points out of a playoff spot with a game or 2 in hand on the teams ahead of them.

Even if they string together several wins, it's difficult to leapfrog four other teams with the loser-points getting in the way.

Islanders and their fans complain A LOT about the officiating

holy poop

I checked out that blog too. Wohaaa .

I get Brass penalty was bad timing, but a lot of calls were missed as well. Their Ranger hate/envy just takes over.

I mean there are still 35 plus games left and they play those teams multiple times ahead of them

Buch and Skjei are not deadline trade guys

nobody looks at them as guys that will help solidify a Cup run

they are very strong draft/summer trade candidates because team's may look at them as guy's that will become stronger with different coaching and a change of scenery

you dont look for guys like that at this time of year

- jimbro83

I disagree with you here about Buch. I would agree that he isn't a guy a team is going to break the bank for, but I could see teams looking at a consistent 40 pt guy and thinking it would solidify their secondary scoring. He would play on the top 9 on almost any team in the league. What teams would give up for Buch probably isn't worth us trading him at this time, but I almost guarantee if we made him available we would get several calls on him.

The officiating was pretty poop for both sides this game. However, I can't see how they can complain in a game where they got 5 power plays and a weak call that negated one of ours.

I'm hoping Lindgren doesn't get any kind of supplemental discipline. It was a pure bang bang play, but the result looked pretty ugly. The guy played like a young Beuke last night, probably the most excited I had been watching him play since he got here.

In Lindgren’s early games as a Ranger, although young, I didn’t know or think he’d be an NHL dman. This kid is a helluva player and competitor. His skating is drastically different than the kid we first saw. Love this kid.

Fox call was terrible as was the Panarin call (which they scored 4 on 4).

We need to find a way to get some production from the 3rd line. And the 4th line needs an identity. I would maybe try Fast on the 3rd line, simplify things for Chytil and Howden and put Kakko on the 1st line with Panarin and Strome to try and get him going. That 3rd line of Howden/Chytil/Kakko is talented but they’re young and they’re pressing. Fast could calm things down and simplify things for them.
- nyrangers9479

Agree with this. I’d rather see Kakko with Zib and Kreider. Buch is in the middle of one of his disappearing acts.

4th line needs an identity of any kind. They’re not fast, they’re not tough, they’re not defensive gems. Just plugs on the roster.

Agree, I’d call up DiGuiseppe. I remember when we got him the Carolina guys saying the kid loves to run around and hit people, stir the pot a bit. I’d give him a shot, McKegg is useless.

Eberle. Gave him a cross check and Eberle went right into the goalpost. I know the NYI fans thought it shoulda been a major though that part seemed a bit incidental.

This is why if we can get Barron an ATO at the end of the season, let's do it. We might not be able to fix the problem this year, but there is zero reason we can't start addressing it for the future. That kid can play, I think he will at least be a better version of Boo and has a chance to be a real skilled 3C if he hits his ceiling.

could have been a 4 minute, but they complain about everything

on the Islanders broadcast they didn't show the angle where the puck completely crossed the line until much later too so they were all freaking about that

maybe there is a reason the Islanders have the least amount of powerplays in the league they never stop whining

I am not trying to be a dyck but how are the Isles so good? Their roster isn't that impressive. Is it just having superior coaching?

Coaching is good and they are a very deep team. Somehow Barzal might be the most underrated player in the league, but when they are healthy their 4th line can score on you. It's real hard to play teams that can consistently roll 4 lines.

Reminds me of a young G with a little more snarl. Lindy is a little better at his lateral skating.

In other news, the word “snarl” is weird. Oh and screw Lindy Ruff cause “Lindy” is a great nickname for Lindgren but a poopty one with Ruff around.

I don't care if Fast did embellish a little, it was payback for not calling Boychuck for the knee on Kreider. What a game, run a goalie and score the game winning goal. It's like 2014 Kreider

Dont forget the dive called on Panarin that let the Isles tie it up.

I’m all about solving the issue internally. He’s a bit of a ways away, but Henriksson might also be a good bottom 6 guy. He’s got a knack for the front of the net, like most Swedes do.
