This guy argues with his grandma if no one else is around - washedup20
But if we re-did the draft, Grandma wouldn't even be picked in the top-ten.
She has decent Cookies-for (adjusted) in her own kitchen but completely gets out-hugged by almost every other Grandma chosen that year. And she needs a new hip but the Grandma union only allows for a walker and some ibuprofin.

You think we should bag on grandma for being projected at 2OA but then being like the 4th best grandma |

Then do we take Rhino as a good player that has benefited from being on Jack's wing. Would we even be talking about 8 mill a year. Or 5 or 6 mill were he probably should be. - Buff36
5 or 6 mil?
this is 2020
a player improving every year knocking on 70 points in year 5 is getting 7 mil on a long term deal
your stuck in the 90's |

I think we have different ideas of what “generational” means - jdfitz77
jack has played like a generational player this season
the effort he has put in this season to be a complete player is so obvious |

He is doing his job, he is a good hockey player. I just don't think the coach thinks he can drive a line, cause it would have made to much sense to do it, and give Skinner a playmaker - Buff36
2 things
1- glad to see you are focusing your displeasure of not "having Sam on line 2 issue" properly on Krueger now. It isn't Sam's issue.
2 - Sam was tied for 39th in the NHL scoring last night. Given that there are 31 team with 3 players on line 1, making for 93 players in the line 1 pool, AND the fact there are several Dmen in the top 39 scorers he iroughly in the top 1/3 of line 1 players points wise. I'd say better than just good...Probably should agree on the tag "Very Good $8M Man". |

Lazar does look like a good move by Botts. Gotta give him credit when credit is due. Girgensons and Larsson are both having nice seasons too and are a value at their contracts.
There’s some ammo for you Botts backers. - Beethoven
Give credit to Botts, no doubt.
How about we give alot of credit to Krueger for having upgraded the play of many
Eichel
Oloffson
Sam
Girgs
Larry
Okposo
Lazar
Asplund fitting in nicely (has a ways to go though)
Joker
Montour
Risto
Dahlin playing much, much better
Ullmark

Those are all bad players because none of them are exactly equal to their draft position.

I feel like a broken record, it’s the fact that Hutton couldn’t stop a franking beach ball and we are riding Ullmark to hard because of it.
Ullmark does his job last night and he looks like a genius. We are one of the best defensive teams in hockey. |

Point is, just because the team is inconsistent doesn't make him a bad coach. Individually, a lot of them are playing a whole lot better. They still struggle with team consistency. And that's going to take time, not one Sabres fan wants to hear. |

We play a very boring, suffocating style of hockey because we have to, and we have the personnel to be able to. Toronto needs to play loose and fast because they have to, and don't have the personnel to 'lock it down' like Buffalo does.
A win is a win is a win, even though I'd rather win every game 5-3 than 3-1. |

it's a mixed bag
I can point out several things kruger has done that has not worked
but I have to be productive today
if you were to rank the 31 nhl head coaches
he would be between 20-26 on a good day |

It's a bar discussion. I personally feel you can see that he's vastly improved many areas on and off the ice. You hear individual players praise him. You see a ton of guys that were just listed having overall their best seasons. Ristolainen said he's the best coach he's ever had (probably not saying that much). His structure, when implemented, is extremely sound, as it was last night. It's up to the players on the ice to do it consistently. Which they don't.
Is Bruce Boudreau a bad coach because half his roster is 3 years from a retirement facility? Is Craig Berube a bad coach because he failed in Philly but now a good coach because STL won the cup? Is Peter Laviolette finally a bad coach after being a great coach for years? |

I’d rather be the defensive team then the team that is loose. Idc what sport it is, defence wins.
The Blues and Bruins suffocated their opponents last year and were the last 2 teams left.
The Sabres are trying to be the team they beat last night, and Dallas did some damage in the playoffs last year.
The isles don’t score many goals, but they win a lot of games. |

If they could package Reinhart + for a very good center, I'd be into it. I dont even know what names would fit that bill atm though - jcragcrumple
Oh boy!
Lol.
I mentioned this 2 weeks ago and got absolutely poop on.
And for clarification, I agree. I wouldn't be willing to add a whole hell of alot though...especially if Sam settles in at 70-75 pts. |

Well then I suppose I agree to disagree. But fun hockey is fun.
And wins are above all the most important thing. In case it needed to be clarified. |
