He’s also played well for 7 games. Pretty small sample size. Let’s see how he plays and behaves when he is “comfortable”. It’s short sided to complain over 7 games.

Lets get a sample size of the Flyers bottom six?

I'll hang up and listen

Yeah, cause I am the guy that says "you only show up .." and am proven wrong.

Yep - got me again

What will I ever do with being proven wrong time and time again?

Please teach me Flyer 1218 -- I need to learn to be a better poster so I can fit in with the masses that live on an internet hockey forum.

Please help Me Mr 1218!!!!

You’re the one so worried about being “shunned by the masses” or being called a “Debbie Downer”. It’s all you talk about. First figure out why you care so much about what the “masses” think about your posts.

Yep -- he had a 50% say in where he signed. The other 50% is on the team.

Can you say, without a doubt, the Flyers turned him down?

- corduroy

I can't say anything without a doubt. What I do know is that it is a possibility that even if the Flyers were interested, maybe Kovalchuk wasn't. So really any claims that the Flyers screwed up and should've signed him is unfounded.

Scott Laughton has the same amount of goals. He has the same amount of goals as the Flyers defensive 3rd line center. In just about the same amount of games. With powerplay time. He has two more goals then Pitlick.

Come on guy.

Thank you!!!

I am taking notes -- please don't stop telling me how to fit in with the other posters. These things are of the utmost importance!!!

I never understood that voicing your opinion of how the team is constructed, performing, and its direction was a bad thing!

You have shown me the ways of my errors. How may I ever thank you? I am indebted to you for life.

So then it is a possibility to say that Kovulchuck had an interest and the Flyers were unable to sign him due to cap restraints?

Based on what Kovalchuk signed for in Montreal, if the Flyers and Kovalchuk had mutual interest, I know for a fact that the Flyers could've signed him and that the cap did not prevent them from doing so.

If you’re going to smash them when they are bad, how about some props when they are good? You (frank)ing female doged when the Flyers were losing yesterday, but they pull it out against the Blues, and you go radio silent. Just like all the other cast of characters. But then today, where they obviously played poorly, all are out in full force.

I don’t care if you’re upset when they lose. You are entitled to be. But at least throw some props when they are good.

People don’t like their moves. That’s fine. But it can’t be denied Hayes is having a good year. Or that Niskanen has been good. Those may not have been the players you wanted, I know they weren’t who I wanted, but they’ve been good. And all I want is the team to win.

How is that apples to oranges. You brought up the Flyers bottom 6 and Kovalchuk. He has the same amount of goals as Laughton, one more goal than Raffl, 2 more than Pitlick, 4 more than NAK, 2 more than Farabee. He’s got 6 more than Stewart so there ya go!

Long story short, Kovalchuk has sucked balls this year, is known as a douchebag, every franchise he’s left has not cared for him much, and has played well for exactly 7 games.

Apples to apples. Keep going, you’re good at this.

A win is a win. No win is irrelevant.
- Flyers1218

it sure is. You beat a team like St Louis then come home and lay an egg against Montreal, its irrelevant. Should've just won tonight. Trying to build something here. If you're winning against the cup champs then coming home and peeing your pants and Montreal, thats irrelevant.

Flyers lost on poor execution and low energy for large chunks. Canadiens earned the win. As for Lyon, he had an okay game in what turned out to be a little tough facing 40 shots, had at least 10 high quality saves. It wouldn’t matter if it had been 2-1 or 3-1, Flyers weren’t winning playing like that.

It’s not going to take much to be chasing the playoffs. Much like chasing the lead in games, it doesn’t bode well. Better win next game.

Apples -- Kovulchuck 23 games 14 points .6 PPG

Oranges -- Laughton 27 games 11 points .4 PPG

(11 is less than 14, and 27 is more than 23 -- so laughton has more games played and less points)

Apricots -- Pitlick 42 games 11 points .26 PPG

Rotten fish -- Stewart 16 games 1 point .06 PPG

So please tell me who the flyers bottom six compare?

you cant

Keep on being wrong !

So being 1-1 vs. 0-2 is irrelevant. Got ya.

Does it occur to people that in hockey, anybody can beat anybody. The Lightning just lost to the Wild who have been laying eggs all over the place. The Islanders just lost at home to the Rangers. Montreal was pretty desperate for a win, Carey Price played great, and the Flyers started Alex Lyon. They were just better tonight. It happens.

But whatever, if everyone wants to be miserable then be miserable. Don’t know why I give a poop

Right. So Kovalchuk playing in the top six and the power play is giving the same output as Scott Laughton. That’s an awesome player right there lol.

He has played top 6 for 7 games with Mtl -- he was 4th line in LA for 16 of his 23 games -- nice try sparky

Not being miserable, just having an opinion. I want to win more than anyone but you're gonna tell me they beat St louis then come back home and lose to Montreal, its disappointing. Its an average team unfortunately.

He averaged almost 17 minutes a night in LA. That’s not fourth line. He was just crappy.

I hear ya man. I’m not happy either. But wins are wins. Can’t take them away. Just get into the playoffs and anything can happen. Especially with Hart. I think they can make noise if they get in.
