FWIW. Pronman mid season rankings of the top prospects not yet in the NHL
14 Frost
42 York
55 Brink
57 Zamula
That’s not bad having 4 of the top 57 in the Flyers organization especially considering all of the young players already on the team.
Biggest surprise to me. Caufield ranked 4th best after a nonexistent WJC. |

All of this would be fine if the Flyers were a stacked team that was a legit contender. - MJL
Just hope that once Stewart clears that they finally send him down so Farabee can come back up.

Brayden Schenn was also once called the best player outside the NHL and has since amounted to a being a solid top 6 player which isn't nearly as exciting as that ranking suggested. It's hard for me to get too worked up over these things.
I like those 4 prospects a lot but they've all got a long ways to go before being anything that noticable at a NHL level, Frost included. |

If you get a top 6F or top 4D you are way ahead of the game. Nothing wrong with Schenn’s career. Not a superstar but very solid top six. Would love to have him in the slot on the PP right now. |

I didn't mean that as a slight on Schenn at all but these prospects rankings don't mean a whole hell of a lot to me. It's definitely nice that the Flyers have a system stocked well enough to have some names show up on these lists though. Lord knows how many years we barely had any. |

I don't think you're accurately portraying what Schenn is. Schenn is a #2 center on the current Stanley Cup champions and the best team in the league.

I'm aware of what he and his team did last year. I don't know what part of solid top 6 player is slighting him but ok. This Flyers team could certainly use an extra player or two like that right now. |

Pronman is a huge supporter of Caufield...thought he was steal of the draft...can’t admit he’s wrong this quickly....

It is nice, but player development of these highly rated prospects is even more important then having guys on a prospect rating list. Highly rated prospects don’t win games at the NHL level. Developed prospects do.

That play works sometimes, just sometimes, in men’s league. In the NHL they are pretty adept at saucer passing. That was awful by Myers lol. |

He overplayed it. He took himself out of the play and lane was wide open to Faulk. |

that is true. however, its tough to have the luxury in todays cap world of doing that. if you dont have a couple of key contributors on ELCs, its pretty damn tough to be a top team in today's league. don't get me wrong, i love the cap even when it (frank)s you, but still. its gonna result in some guys not getting enough cooking time down on the farm. |

Voracek almost scored....on us
Giroux needs more urgency when he has the puck. He is taking to long to shoot. |

For sure....if you have a bunch of guys making 7-8-9 million a year you’d better have some young guys on ELC’s contributing...some will have to be here a little sooner then what’s optimum, but that’s today’s NHL. A real problem is when your big contracts aren’t producing....that’s when your in trouble. |

He's still pretty raw imo. Looks so great sometimes. Other times you're left scratching your head. I think he's just going to have to play through these mistakes. In the long run I think he's gonna be right there with Provy as our best tho. |

agreed.
its a killer if you have a guy making a ton of money who is an overall negative on the ice. you guys female dog and moan a ton, and it is reasonable to an extent, because you have a collection of individually good players each probably falling short of their production by one to two million. when you put that together, that could be the difference of upgrading michael raffl to artemi panarin. all in all though, for all the griping thats been going on, your record is pretty damn good. this is the most proud of a penguins team ive been in quite some time, you guys are apparently absolute trash given the pulse of the room, and yet theyre virtually identical record wise.
hayes gets a lot of heat, but that contract is just the cost of free agency. hayes is a guy i would gladly take on any team. i think the issue is much more of a JVR/Voracek thing. both decent players yeah, but when they arent producing they dont do much else. |

Not to step on your point because it’s well made. O’Riley and Schenn both have 40 points a piece this season. Schenn is formally the Blues first line center prior to O’Riley’s arrival in St Louis. Schenn was centering the top line all last season. It can go either way between the two. Blues are tops in the league still this season with Tarasenko our long term. |
