Anyone with a brain had a problem with this and we see now why. - MBFlyerfan
I don't follow. Your comment doesn't make sense. Dave Scott is the head of a multi-billion dollar organization.
The world is a perfect meritocracy so it would stand to reason that he knows exactly what he is doing in every single one of the businesses he is the boss of, including the Flyers.
Unless, its just about the money? |

Its always just about money. I worked for a large multi million dollar company called Stericycle and the Head there has no idea of anything there. Everything there is so poorly done there in the sense that theres so many convoluted and ridiculous processes that exist because nothing is done properly. Head guys are concerned only with profit, they dont care how the flow is, just as long as their pockets are being filled |

Gallant is one of the 4 coaches in the NHL all-star game. That will be a bit odd.
When they introduce him, what team do they say he's from? - PLindbergh31

So Chris Stewart is sick, but will be forced into the lineup tonight for cap-reasons? That's... nice. |

This sort of is a problem. Normally Stewart isnt an issue but loaning Farabee who is a rostered player instead of waiving you pressbox guy doesnt make any sense. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
The fact Farabee has seen as much time as he has at the NHL level, before he was ready speaks volumes to the depth of this team. Ditto for Frost. This would be an issue regardless if Stewart were here or not...because the signing of Stewart shows the weakness of the depth of this team as well.
Stewart isn’t a good nhl player. Frost and Farabee aren’t ready to be nhl players. |

Just double shift someone. Play with 11 forwards. Stewart adds nothing anyway. |

Does Lyon start in goal tomorrow against Montreal? I'd hate to see Elliott injured from the B2B. He is good, but not as young as he used to be. - RustyPipes
Lyon tomorrow, I hope. B2B with travel...not a good idea.

Farabee was seeing handing his number 49 to Lyon as he walked out the door. |

So Elliott in St. Louis tonight, and Lyon vs. Price tomorrow. I smell 4 points. |

All of this would be fine if the Flyers were a stacked team that was a legit contender. |

I hate how the Flyers aren't as stacked or playoff tested a team as say the Lightning, Capitals, Penguins, or Bruins; nor a legitimate Stanley Cup Contender yet they're right up against the cap. - Pixote Andolini
I preferred last season when they were bottom 10 all season but had lots of cap room. |

Cap wise, the absolute worst place to be is to be capped out and not good enough. Flyers aren't there from a long term perspective but the way the team has operated under the "Scott mandate" is scary. |

I don't know why they didn't just go with Patrick as 2C and Gudas on the top pairing; then there would have been tons of cap space. |

It's far from ideal, understatement, and just shows how almost untenable it is to be a GM.
You have your bosses that give mandates or pick targets.
You try and hit those targets but you block the possibilities for the team while if you don't you might not have a job.
