The way I understood it.... Mario and others wanted to give Bylsma more time. It was the reason they hired JM (which they freely admitted). Burkle as a super successful businessman was probably thinking....."I'm done with this guy".

Also, Riikola has been playing really well this year. Not sure if he is getting used to NHL ice or being coached up or a combination of the two, but he has been largely unnoticeable in a good way and makes some nice plays here and there.
