Anyone else notice how hard the Pens play night in and out? I watched the Caps play the Devils last night. Looked lazy and slow by comparison.

Never did edible but I do hear there is a minimmum 1 hour lag time.

Generally, If you have a really empty stomach 30 mins to an hour . If you just ate a meal 1.5 to 3 hours. If you ate, say a few hours before, hour to hour and half.

Ever since I heard the Rakell idea, everything else seems less interesting. I'm not enthralled with Saad because of his cap hit for next year. Still a good player, but will restrict what we can do in the offseason.

Edit.... Yeah, I know Rakell is a pipe dream.

The way I see it, they're probably going to be after a wing next off-season, so if they trade with someone term isn't that the same as getting what they want early?

Yes, about an hour to kick in and probably two before it really hits the hardest.

What does Bjugstad do that Sam Lafferty doesn’t for a fraction of the price?
- Za Warudo

Bjugstad has scored 24 goals and nearly 50 points. Whether they keep him or his cap hit or not, he's better than Lafferty, who is a decent depth player, but hasn't really done much since his call up adrenaline wore off.

Absolutely, pretty sure that's what Ruth is TRYING to do. But if not he'll go the rental route.

This is true, but Rakell is signed for 3 more years at a bargain and Saad only has one at market rate. So much more value in Rakell. Allows them to save a little money for our RFA's. They only get Saad for one more year and probably limits the depth because of his cap hit. I'd pay a premium for Rakell or someone like him because of the value with his cap hit and the 3 more years. I think JR should go for it with this team.

Speaking of Bjug.... I'd love to know how long he's been bothered with his injury. Could it be the primary reason he was awful from the beginning of the season? I'd say it's likely.

That's what I was thinking as well. However he just seems like he would not fit with Sid or Geno on the wings. I'd rather McCann be on the top 6 wings and Bjugs 3c IF he stays.

I'd also prefer Rackell if he's available. It was more a commentary that we don't need to be limited here by term.

As far as cap, they always had the space next year to replace Schultz or Galchenyuk but not both. With Marino replacing Schultz cheap for a year (and Jarry maybe for Murray) the money will be there.

I still think they need two wingers. The winger they were going to bring in before Jake went down who would have replaced what they wanted from Chucky and the winger to replace Jake.

I would get Toffoli and either Zucker or Saad, and have both Bjuststad and Chucky moved out.

2 quality wingers would be a dream! I think this would be the most complete team the pens have had. 2 actual wingers for Sid and geno. Plus letang pairing with one and Marino with the other. Wet dreams I tell ya!

Fingers crossed for a Crosby sighting tonight!

On a different note...

Damn! Tampa is rolling. I thought for sure they were gonna barely scrape in. Who do you guys think is legit out at this point?

Jersey
Ottawa
Detroit
LA
Anaheim
These are the teams that don't really have a chance to crawl back in, though stranger things have happened. Speaking of Anaheim, what happened to the WSCTeton dude? He was going on about how everyone was wrong for calling the Ducks a trash team. Just curious...

do you guys think LA would sell Kempe? I'd prefer him over Toffoli.

Even though not mathematically out, I think MTL is done. Chicago for sure.

I actually hope Sid sits tonight. Let him rest and be fully 100%. No need to rush.

I think JR is going to make a bit of a splash.....JMO. I think he's even surprised at how well they're handling the injury problems and sees a real chance to win a cup if he gets help. I don't think he's going to be conservative.

He’s usually not conservative so it’s possible. I’m not gonna get hopes up but I do see some wingers coming and see 2 players going. I’m not opposed to trading the 1st but getting some solid prospects would also be nice.
