We are getting Crosby back and it's still all doom and gloom from RW? So this is, as usual, another glass is half empty blog?

No Sid at practice. That sucks

Haha gotcha.

If a team wanted to reset younger, I'd look into a Pettersson for an established LD swap, so long as he had term. Don't think GMJR will.

- Tojo.

After that talk of Petts getting $4.5M on his next contract, I was thinking the same thing. Or Petts for a forward and picking up an established LD in a different deal. Don't know if Petts is in the "cheap bridge deal" category or not, but I would definitely hang on to him if that were the case.

List of top forwards in SCA/60
1. ZAR
2. Jordan Greenway
3. Teddy Blueger
4. Brandon Tanev
5. Jared McCann

They also rank #2, 5, 6, and 9 respectively in HDCA/60.

- burgh4life87

I don't know how SCA/60 is calculated, but this list makes me think that the coach / system has a lot to do with 4 of the top 5 being Pens. Not to take anything away from those guys.

Yeah, I'd prefer a bridge deal too. Doesn't seem to be how they're leaning.

I agree with this and mostly because I would also like to see that Simon Bjugstad Hornqvist line play again. They were really strong to finish last season.
- burgh4life87

IF we acquired Rackell...
McCann-Sid-Rackell
Kahun-Geno-Rust
Simon-Bjugstad-Horny
ZAR-Blue-Tanev
Hell of a lineup...get deep in the playoffs and Guentzel comes back

I guess he's not playing tomorrow. From what I've read, he hasn't taken any contact in practice yet.

That's sucks, but hey I'm sure the points the Pens are collecting are letting him actually heal and not rush back. I feel like if we were in a bad spot he'd rush back. Hell he didn't go right to surgery at the beginning of the year because other injuries.

I feel the same way... Not a dire need to rush him back since they're comfortably in a playoff spot.

Do the Penguins actually need Sidney Crosby?

Nope, you should trade that plug to Buffalo for Okposo, Rodriguez, Bogosian and any other stiff we can through in, we will even give you back Sheary...

Win, Win....

- hehateme

Don’t get me started. I’m trying to let rest the hope that the Sabres could convince the Blackhawks to trade Kane to Buffalo sooner rather than later.

Think it would take more than the depth players you mentioned though, to be an official win, win.

See the Pens and Blackhawks trending in opposite directions.

Can appreciate the sarcasm of this blog.

Do the Penguins need Crosby... look...

I might not need a filet with my strip, but goddamn if a porterhouse isn’t delicious.

But honestly, as great as the Penguins have been without him, yeah, come playoffs you’ll want that guy. It’s kinda his thing.

Just had chipotle because I had a 15 dollar gift card. Got the barbacoa and the steak with both beans, pico and salsa verde with a side of queso and that poop is wack. Some of the blandest food I’ve ever had.

Well yea, but for fast food it ain't bad, I only get chicken though. I haven't eaten there in a while. I guess I missed some convo of it being great?

I'd definitely trade Addison and a 1st for Rakell or Zucker.
Marino really made him more "expendable" than Poulin/Legare, imo.

Kase has been rumoured available for a while but I'd stay away from him...too many injuries.

Kempe is my dark horse... Would be a poor man's Rakell but still intriguing

Whenever I hear Kase I think of the Seinfeld episode with George and his father in bed.

Halfway through the season, who is your MVP: Marino or Jarry? Probably has to be Jarry, but I don't even want to think about the defense without Marino doing what he's done.

I'm guessing no one had either of them on their top 10, maybe even top 15, pre-season MVP list. What an amazing couple of much-needed surprises!

Still haven’t been enough injuries to justify his spot in the lineup. Heard he purposely drives around looking to run over puppies to back home. Wherever he’s from. Estonia?

Marino is doing what Schultz was expected to do this year tbh. A big plus for us.

I think Rakell would be worth an Addison trade. Just don't give away Légaré and Poulin please.

Yeah couple days ago people were giving me poop because I said Moes is better. It’s only better because Moes queso is better than the entire chipotle menu.
