I have to imagine the price for Rakell would be steep. He's on pace for another 50 point season, is only 26 and signed for two more years under $4? Pens will have to dish out quite a bit. Probably a 1st along with one of Addison, Poulin or Legare, and maybe more.
Honestly, probably worth it. - Rinosaur
I feel they're a good match for Addison because they really want a RH puck mover.
And yeah, he'd be worth a steep price. Good chance he can bounce back to 30 goals here. He's a right shot that's good on the PP, bargain contract and good possession player. |

Even if he's not a 30 goal guy every year the dude is a beast. Having him, Jake and Rust in the top six next year? Awesome. |

Agree. Rackell not bouncing back is still a 20 goal, 50 point guy making a shade under 4M for 2 more years. But it's nice to have the realiatic chance for more. His decline in goal production coincided with the decline of the Ducks aging stars, so he should get a bump with better centers. |

I know they are, but I don't even bother looking at repeating the facts. They are so egregiously terrible with their information. They make TIOPS look like the New York Times. - Rinosaur
When they attempt to breakdown gameplay is when I completely shut down. He has done a few articles on Jack Johnson that will actually have you laughing. |

Hey Wilson, Remember when you pounded the stump that the Pens didn't have any depth and we'd regret not having Kessel? |

Obviously injuries affect trade scenarios, but this would be my main priority for 1. As mentioned here for along time a dumo injury pretty much screws the whole left side and 2. With the emergence of Marino a more experienced partner would make his role easier, less demanding, and allow him to just do his thing. Upgrading LD upgrades RD too imo.
Ekholm is a beast and most importantly around here is durable. I’m sure our focus now is a top line winger but offseason I think this should be a priority. And petts would more than likely be apart of that package for me. Unless we get a FA obviously. - 10inchTerror

Going back to the last thread....
Where did those Rakell rumors come from? I heard Bob Grove on the radio yesterday saying he thinks he'd be great here, but it was just a discussion about possible additions. No inside info on trade discussions. - madmike71

Dom at the Athletic said today ZAR has the best defensive meteics in the league, but probably won't get consideration because it's more of a 2 way player award. |

So I went right into the comments section not realizing it was a new blog. I just read the blog.
They were even better with Sid this season. I cant f'n believe 27 (26?) games have gone by this quick. |

I remember around a month and half ago you saying you'd like to keep him when people were saying they'd trade him because there wasn't many forwards in the group that do what he does. |

Do the Penguins actually need Sidney Crosby?
Nope, you should trade that plug to Buffalo for Okposo, Rodriguez, Bogosian and any other stiff we can through in, we will even give you back Sheary...
Win, Win.... |

I think if we could trade for a solid lw id go with new lefty (or Galch if not) sid and bjug as a line upon all there returns. At the very least it keeps basically all other lines intact except a pretty weak 4th line. |

Yeah people are coming around on him. I'm not interested in trading away a cheap, effective role player that's signed next year. You've got one of the better shutdown lines in the league locked in for a combined 5.25 M for another year, why not keep it together? |

That's a nice find. Makes me even more convinced McCann should play with Crosby.
1. The Blueger line is a legit 3rd line and after the Sid, Malkin, and Blueger lines get theirs there won't be much ice time left for the last line.
2. McCann is our 4th best healthy forward and we should have our best players helping Sid and Geno, especially with Guentzel out. McCann has struggled offensively lately, so would he really be better centering thw roster leftovers or playing with a dynamic center.
3. Having a young wing who not only can score, but can help handle defensive responsibilities would be a big help for our aging star centers.
4. Long-term, if McCann fits as a 2 way player with Sid, who will still take tough minutes, that frees Guentzel up for Malkin. Or vice versa. |

I think I limited it to 300 minutes played minimum, but still pretty impressive.

I agree with this and mostly because I would also like to see that Simon Bjugstad Hornqvist line play again. They were really strong to finish last season.
