Did I hear correctly, did the announcer mention the name Sannipass in the 87 World Junior clip? Was that the Blackhawk Sannipass? - powerenforcer
Yes that was Everette Sannipass. Theo Fleury started the mess, Sanipass and Shanahan were two of the main combatants and the refs had no clue what they were doing |

All the side shows aside, watching the Flyers now, just wish it would’ve worked out for Kevin Hayes here Instead of watching a few of these clowns that have been playing on our forward lines this year. Better yet let’s put it this way,the only two that I would not take him ahead of would be 19 and 88 and possibly 12. I am not talking about a rookie like Kirby Dach ,He’s exempt. But Kevin Hayes is the exact type forward this team can use right now. - wonthecup10
A $7M dollar a year C/W for another 6 years who has busted 20 goals once so far in his career...and people female dog about Saad.

Edit - You can keep Hayes. I'd take Couts though.

Conner McDavid would make little difference with this years team with the current defense. Hayes would make no difference. - paulr
I would take Kevin Hayes over,.......Strome, Nylander,Caggiula,Smith,Carpenter, The mighty “ one goal” Sikura,Kubalik,Kampf, Saad(maybe) Who else did I forget( no not 19,88,77,12)...
My point being is maybe he wouldn’t make a huge difference Currently, but he’s better than most of the poop that this general manager trotted out this season.
My question is did Stan bowman really put in earnest effort into trying to re-sign Kevin Hayes this past Summer or is it just some more of this smoking bullpoop kind of like what he put out there yesterday in his press conference.
My next question is he may be satisfied with Colliton, but Are Rocky and John satisfied with him? |

Again Kevin Hayes is signed for $7M...20+ goals once. Strome and Kubalik are younger with better upside and Saad's just a better player. |

I’d take Kampf over Hayes, definitely. |

Saad , I will give you, respectfully disagree with the other two. Hopefully Dylan Strome pans out, But everybody is already thinking that other kid is the second coming of Marian Hossa, I’ll take Kevin Hayes over Dominic Kubalik.
As far as the doe, He’s a young kid I’m sure he has a few 30 goal seasons on the horizon. He’s surrounded with better players in Philly minus 19&88,And definitely a better coach. |

Hitting the dispensary’s are you a little bit Darth? I’ll give you your just dues on your like for the Caufield kid I think he will be a special player for Montreal. David Kampf probably would not make 25 of the 30 NHL teams rosters. |

Ah yeah - the great Kevin Hayes. A true pud of a human being that once scored all of 51 points in a season. The same number of points Strome scored in 58 games for the Hawks last year. Strome has 30 points in 40 games this year which projects to 60 points for the season. Let's see how Hayes is doing this season - 24 points in 43 games which projects to 47 points for the season. It must be Hayes' winning personality ... I guess.

How exactly would you fit him under the cap... and ice an entire team? There is a reason we have the players we do. |

HawkintheD is correct. But K Hayes would have either changed draft strategy away from Dach or caused a lot of line juggling. |

That was the "Punchup in Piestany".
Don Cherry blamed it all on the Russians and "all those foreigners over there that don't like Canada winning". Clearly that was the correct take on the matter and no more need for analysis or discussion.

Rick Vaive had more goals in one season than Sanipass had for a career. The guy was an absolute sniper back in the day!! In the 1987/88 season the Savard, Vaive, and Larmer line was incredible. Savard had 44 goals, Vaive 43, and Larmer had 41. |

The Hawks drafted Dach before free agency started. It may have led to them leaving Dach in Jrs, but it would have had nothing to do with last year's draft. |

Respectfully disagree with your respectful disagreement.
Strome's 22 and panning out better than K. Hayes did as a 22 year old or a 27 year old, which is what he currently is...a 27 yo who has eclipsed 20 goals exactly once in his career. Are you saying K. Hayes has a couple 30 goal seasons on the horizon? Remains to be seen but he better, to be worth what he signed for.
I know you're a size and toughness guy...other than 2 inches and a couple hits a game what does Hayes give you over Strome?
Strome's a tall lanky kid who is still filling out. He looks a little faster, better on his skates this year and a bit tougher to knock off the puck...and like Kane and some other guys, he's a hockey junkie who seems to only want to improve at his craft.
Maybe some guys were chubbing over the Hossa comparisons early on but I don't see them anymore with Kubalik. That said, he's still a good player and likely to crack 20 goals in his first season as a 24 yo coming over from what...the Swiss Elite League? Also, figure it took Colliton a while to finally put him in the top 6 and stick him on Toews' wing...where I would take him over Kevin Hayes and he's likely to cost $3M or slightly north vs K. Hayes making $7M+ for the next 6 years after this one.
Like I said, change it to Couturier and I think your statement would have some merit. Kevin Hayes? Nah.

Not saying either/ or, I’ll give ya Strome also, but why can’t we have both? So I guess it is The 7 mill a year, same like the cat getting 6.5 for what will probably be 18-20 goals this year.
Crap shoot when it comes to projecting output down the road. |

I’m with ya on “ Couts”. I watch a lot of the flyer games, most fans have a second team that they like , mine is the Flyers, no surprise there .
With that being said I don’t know how many of you guys Feel that Stan Bowmans comments in the Chicago tribune the other day about the state of the team, Almost sounded to me like he felt too comfortable in his job and like his bosses and the fans should be satisfied where everything is at. Now unless Rocky and John gave him a ringing endorsement Behind closed doors along with his little buddy behind the bench, I would think there should be a sense of urgency and it should be getting hot around his collar. Personally if this team does not make the playoffs I would like to see sweeping changes, from the general manager on down.

Rick Vaive. Good ole #27. Wore that half-bowling ball Cooper helmet. Another of those players in the Hall of Very Good.
The Hawks almost always tried to get a season or two of productivity out of guys past there prime. Vaive, Michel Goulet, Steve Smith, Bobby Orr, Paul Coffey, Wendel Clark.

Carbon copy of the Halas Hall playbook.
GM and head coach cover for each other's defense of poor choices while the team continues to suck. - Return of the Roar
Yes it's exactly the same. One SB win in the 20th Century vs 3 SC's in the 21st.
Yep. Carbon Copy in terms of continuity of sucking and mismanagement. |
