Even though Nylander hasn't been very good play him with skilled players and leave him there for a bit. Play him with Dack and Debrincat

Might as well with Strome and Saad out.

Win the draw - can’t keep the puck.

This team has no respect for the puck - can’t pass cleanly, can’t receive cleanly, can’t control in in any zone.

Hawks just don’t have the horses, especially with Saad and Strome missing from the top 6
- LAHawk

Whatever.....so just how long are we going to have to believe in Jeremy Colliton ??????????? This is getting old.

Listening to the post game guys it’s the same old poop every game, and it’s not going to change until they get rid of Stan Bowman and Jeremy Colleton I sound like a goddamn broken record but it is what it is. No reaching for stars with these two guys anymore.
More the (frank) important, where the hell are you Rocky and John? time you come out make a statement!

I hate that this team has to be down to play with any urgency. I know they aren't very good, but (frank)ing work at least.

Just giving you poop Cup. Not saying Hayes is a bad player but that was my point all along is he's not worth $7M.
- HawkintheD

I agree with you buddy I did not know he was making that kind of coin. I thought he was like I said around four and was wondering why Bowman wouldn’t pay that. But $7 million a year he better eventually be right at the top with Jake Voracek,Giroux and Nolan Patrick eventually.

5-7-2 vs central teams with some significant beat downs in those losses...

Rinne embarrassing the Hawks this season - says one game was the easiest shut out he ever had, scoring a goal tonite....

Eh...the Hawks chased him once this season too. For all the accolades and adulation that clown receives, he should have won something more than a President's Tropy by now.

But as a wise man once said...Loser's lose. That's what they do.

Still no Stanley Cups though. Have all the goals you want, maybe you shouldn't have been a goalie.

Wow I didn’t realize how bad the Preds were. We almost beat them without Saad, Shaw, Strome and deHaan. Even with them, we have a subpar lineup so no way we can overcome the injuries. Makes me happy we won the Cups in the window unlike the Preds and Sharks, which the window is likely closed. The Preds probably be rebuilding soon like the Canucks.

well earlier they got blown off the ice with one of their worst thrashings in history with all those guys...

preds have their problems and the cap has caught with them but the hawks once again (frank)n beat themselves with their traditional suckfest bad period every game

To be honest, I'd have no problem with Crawford being named the interim head coach to finish the season. Although, the real problem stems from the fact they have limited talent compared to the rest of the league. At least, go down with some dignity. To not come out with some fire in your own rink, speaks legends.

I wish this coach would just leave Kane,Toews and kubalik together from the start of the game, not just when they have to try comeback.
- GPHawksfan

You can't see me, but my head just exploded reading this:

Ben Pope
@BenPopeCST

Colliton on if he'll keep Kubalik-Toews-Kane together:

"Yeah, and we've done it before. When they've started together, it hasn't worked out that well. They seem to play better when we spot them in for a shift here, shift there... But we look at everything."

===========

So, Coach, when was the last time you started them together? Some time back in October when Kubalik was adjusting to NA ice and Toews was having one of his infamous slow starts? Because I cannot remember it happening recently.

I was really trying to give JC a chance because he seemed in December to again be turning things around, but he's lost me with this type of decision-making recently.. He doesn't have any combination that will give him four legit NHL lines and needs to just load up the two he has and try to run up the score where he can. He's not ready for the NHL yet.

Speaking of, having the old sage, Coach Crawford, back isn't really doing much but increasing our TMM penalties (believe he was responsible for line changes).

Is it just me or are there more injuries to more of the top (and other) players this year than in recent years? Just saw something that Logan Couture is out for several weeks with an ankle fracture.

If more, is it because the speed of the game increasing has driven up impact injuries? Are the refs doing a poor job of controlling the games, so people don't get hurt?

I love Kane. But he is not going to block shots or win board battles in the defensive zone. He is going to float.

The opponents match their most offensive minded LD with the Kane line.

It is very obvious that the opposition is telling their LD to activate, come down to the half boards or go to the net in the offensive zone when Kane is on the ice. Josi last night was a good example.

But is seems like the Hawks make no adjustment for Kane's defensive liability. He sags so far in the D zone that it gives the LD on the other team a lot of room to operate. Instead of Kane playing far off the defender I would rather have Kane play up tight on the LD and make it more difficult for him to receive the puck and then skate and stick check him after he gets the puck. Also if I am the center on Kane's line or the Hawks RD I would be very aware that I have to be ready for the opponents LD.

Does anyone know if the Hawks do battle drills in practice anymore? Remember players used to say they hated going up against Hossa in battle drills. If they still do that in practice - they should do it a lot more. It's not just the physical body on body struggle - it's even more important to get better at locating and controlling the puck when engaged and being jostled around. The Hawk are terrible at winning those contested puck battles mainly because the opposing player has better hand/eye coordination in those contested situations - they're probably the worst in the league in that department. It's why the opposing player ussually comes out with the puck - even if the Hawks have him outnumbered.

Yes, you do. Enough is enough.

You won't see those guys when the team isn't winning. But if the team goes on a 3 game heater they will be all over the place.
