Have to admit that they had better draft position as well...
- BashCH

It's also part of the point, you want players like that you need to put yourself in a position to draft them.

Or do trades with Ottawa

Way better!!

And they got Byram by doing what I'm suggesting they do with Tatar and Petry but people dont wanna do that either.... keep complaining about the current roster but shot down any moves that could improve the team's future

I'm all for trading for picks and prospects. Only way to really improve the team medium/long term IMO.

Difference is they didn't pretend like they could make the playoffs every year, accepted the suckage and had better draft position than the Habs...
- BashCH

They didn't have Price, Subban, Markov and Pacioretty either.... and that mentality is exactly what I'm suggesting they do now but nobody wants to do that, cause Tatar is really good!

It is amazing how drafting 18 year olds to do something in their 20's gets decided on by immediate needs. No way that can play out poorly or show a lack of foresight
- Takemedrunkimhome

Yeah but they still thought Beaulieu and Tinordi would make it. They also thought their future was secured.

I know you are but the majority want to hold on to Tatar at all cost!

Well he's so well rested...
- AdamFrench

3 assists, 8 hits, 5 shots... He's been solid. I'm surprised no one else signed him if league minimum and 2-way contract were an option. He'll definitely fetch something at the deadline.

I find his goal finishes hard to believe, still...4th, 5th, 8th. Like, players with worse finishes than those are in the HoF

fido ain't the majority...I think people have had enough of the constant suckage and want to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Think the Habs were the only team to guarantee him a top 9 spot. Also most teams wanted to wait until TDL to sign him and he didn't want to wait until then to start playing.

At this point I'd trade both Tatar and Petry for the right return. Might even look st Chiarot, Drouin, Domi, Byron...absolute kings ransom Gallagher. It's failed.

If they truly thought that it is reason alone to let them go

To me, he's looked engaged, he's hustled, he's hitting and everything else. Happy to have him.

I've been saying Tatar and Petry for months now... Chiarot can wait another year... Domi and Gallagher should not move and it's hard to decide what to do with Drouin at the moment.... Byron is a salary dump at this point, the time was last season but they just had to lock him up for 4 years

For sure. Really shows the lack of talent on that team that he's their best forward though...
