I don't.

Good news, Timmins is getting the job. He can finnally draft all the great guys he would have wanted instead of being forced drafting busts

- Fredo

i would take you as GM over Bergevin at this point.

not a chance. you think he wants to step up to that podium in June at the Bell Centre and have batteries thrown at him and his GM? what GMs last 8+ years with this track record? it doesn't happen.

We shall see but I think he stays regardless

No, I believe he sticks around at least one more year, I think he built a good young core in the last 24 months and people who were expecting immediate results were just fooling themselves

the injuries concerned me initially but it's gotten so bad that injuries don't explain what has happened here. the draft being in Montreal will be the final push i think.

Apparently they have some problems because there are people who buy the condos to turn them into Airbnb. There is a lot of partying.

Wow, so you're saying the last 24 months are saving his job? To my eye all the last 24 months have shown is how derelict he had been in building an NHL team and a prospect pool the previous six years. "Hey, I ignored building a prospect pool forever because I thought I could build a winner at the NHL level only to fail miserably...but hey, now I've built a solid but starless prospect pool while continuing to let the NHL team flounder. I'll expect my extension with a raise Mr. Molson"

Results matter and Bergy has proven he can't produce positive results.

4.4% chances of making the playoffs.

so I ran the Tankathon this morning, just for fun.
1st try, Habs win and draft Lafreniere
they currently have a 20% chance of picking top 3. 40% to pick 8th.

Yeah I agree...as a fan I wanted to see the injuries as a reason but these losing streaks and lack of a vision as to how this team becomes a contender has allowed me to see clearly through my fan glasses.

When he took over he inherited Price, Markov, Subban and Pacioretty in their prime, how was he suppose to rebuild??

Yeah it's time they extend him, what happens in 2022? Can't risk him signing with Chicago

he made 2 good trades 2 summers ago. other than that, all he has done is draft players and the jury is out on all of those players, including the one he took 3rd overall.

also, in terms of expectations, we're not the ones who set them. the organization set expectations by for the most part hanging on to their aging expensive veterans. if as an organization you're willing to experience a few lean years, why would you hang on to those players? you hang on to those players because you're trying to be good. that was his hedge and it has failed spectacularly.

I've never been a CJ fan but you can't make a cow into a horse. CJ has what MB gives him and again, to my eyes, he's given him a team that can't consistently compete.
