From last tread : It sucks but contenders were pure garbage before they were good.

If this team only try to make the playoffs, trading picks in the process they will never be contenders.

You could argue that the Rangers traded for Trouba in a rebuild, but he wanted to play on that team.

Grandpa used to say “soft like the inside of a mouse’s ear”.

Never felt the inside of a mouses ear, but I’d imagine it’s pretty soft.

You got a GM that does not want to trade veterans because he wants to win now, but you also have a GM that won't trade prospects / picks because he wants to build for the future.

Result: A team that can't win games, let alone make the playoffs and a pool of B+ prospects but no real game changers.

100% recipe for on going mediocrity... same story coming on 30 years now.

Get someone who has the balls to go 1 way or the other and go hard on it.

This (frank)ing mediocrity will go on for another 30 years, at this point.
