I’m beginning to dislike “lou’s kid” more and more. He supposedly was the reason why Thompson is still here and now Ho Sang somehow still playing within the organization. Thompson should’ve been axed when Snow and company were and should be shot into the sun now. Never liked or understood how he retained his job with literally no success to show for it. The guy has done nothing to show he has done anything well since he started coaching down there.

I agree and I also do not know why there seemed to be so little turnover with the scouts as well? The only real stamp Lou has put on this team is scouting. Lou has yet to put his stamp on the roster.

Meh. Trotz was a pretty large stamp. With that said there hasn’t been anything else...

A large but very obvious stamp. Barry needs help though.

I've not seen some of the games but I keep hearing Toews has struggled lately. Dobson is not completely ready which is not a surprise. Still think the right move was to keep him with the team. Lou needs to address the forward issue or this season is in big trouble. Dobson or the D as a whole will not sink the season. It will be the offense like last year.

Jrs had nothing for him as far as developement. Practicing with the team. Traveling with the tram and learning to be a pro made sense. Wouldn’t surprise me if he start in BP next year.

Toews has had a rough month and a half. I feel like his game is getting away from him a little bit.

Bottom line is they can’t score. Lee has been terrible for a while now to the point I’m starting to wonder if he’s playing injured.

I’m windering about that too.

Lou is in a tough spot. He did not want to go the 5 year rebuild route and I get it. He did miss out on JT and Panarin so it makes it a lot tougher. Isles currently do not have the horses and it's very difficult to trade for them. If you cannot sign top FA's you are going to have to find talent through the draft.

And ironically, the Isles under Trotz are just good enough to miss out on all the top draft prospects.

Well that’s kind of what GM’s get paid to do. Improve the team. You can’t solely build a team through the draft we proved that the 12 years before Lameriello.

Yep! Lou wants to win now but it's real tough when you strike out on top FA's. Good luck trading for high impact forwards.

True but it does not help when you do not have the right coaching. I would have liked Lou and Barry's chances a lot more with some of the top picks Garth had. Bottom line, Isles have it tough if they want to compete for a Cup now.

But in all fairness, isn’t that what he has done since he’s here? The team is better even after losing its franchise player.
Whether through shat signings, shat trades that were going to make us worse, we are better all around. Coaches have game plans but the players need to execute the game plan. The GM and coach talk about the pieces that can and can’t play in their system.

He tried on Stone and Panarin and I’m sure he’s trying on Pageau as well.
Hopefully he can get it done.
