McCann, north of 4M, maybe even north of 5M if they do a long-term deal. 3M if it's a bridge deal. - Tojo.
Think he's worth more than Rust? I guess we did just sign Tanev to 3.5 so maybe youre on to something. I feel his versatility and age are a big factor. |

Saad is better and has more term. Toffoli is a good value addirion. Before Jake, I'd have said Toffoli because I thought they could use a RW more, now I say Saad because it effects next year too and that might be a better chance. I'd add both if possible. - Tojo.

That's about what I thought. One prime asset and a decent secondary asset. |

lol, i'm relaxed. I meant geesh as in if thats what it took to get Saad i wouldnt want him. Question for you, I seen that youre high on Troffoli. Who would you rather have of the 2? - nateca44
Toffoli |

Unless they brought up Desmith knowing they have a deal in place for Murray and Desmith will stay up with Jarry. Probably the unlikely scenario |

I'm assuming he's going to easily break 20 goals, something Rust and Tanev didn't do when they signed their deals, so yeah I think he gets more. Still fairly young and a former 1st rounder.
Rust may be worth more at this moment, but wasn't before. |

I would as well, but I don't think the Pens will want to pay the inter-division tax they will get hit with. |

#Pens coach Sullivan said they are going to recall Casey DeSmith to meet the team in Montreal. "We are going to leave Tristan at home because we have a 5 o' clock game on Sunday. (With the) back-to-back, we just think it makes sense." Murray will start vs. MTL, Jarry vs. FLA. -MC
DeSmith is getting moved. Only thing that makes sense to me. You don't risk losing a player for nothing for this type of a situation. |

They are all in the same tier. Toffoli is probably the most cost effective. |

I think I’d take Toffoli as it would be cheaper to acquire and he actually shoots right. Both would be ideal tho lol |

He definitely has a better overall game than Saad. I do like Saad because they get him for one more year. However, if they could pre-negotiate an extension for Toffoli that would be sweet. |

I mean all this talk ignores that in all likelihood GMJR trades Simon and a 2nd for Glendening. |

A player does not need to pass through waivers if the player has not been on the NHL active roster for a cumulative 30 days since last clearing waivers, and has not played in 10 or more NHL games. CBA Reference 13.2(b) |

Feds straightened me out on this recently, go with his explanation. In the last CBA you had to go back through waivers, but that got changed. |

Regardless, this move makes no sense. Calling up DeSmith so Jarry doesn't have to sit on the bench for a night? |

Don't know how much of a difference it makes, but the Sunday start is less than 24 hours than the Habs start. Not sure I get it either. Could the clunk to the head last night be a consideration? He practiced full today....apparently. |

This situation is extremely common in the NHL. Teams don't regularly call up a goalie so their starter doesn't have to sit on the bench because of a back-to-back. |
