Letang with another rookie mistake. Why put your stick blade on a guy's shin in OT when he isn't a threat to score? Of course he's going to go down and get the call every time.

Clear dive tho...those can be called despite never being called...esp couture.

I wish I would have been good enough to dive. My dumbass would kick his stick out of the way and try and go to the net.

4-3 overtime kill, and I’m really happy to have Johnson out there.

lol he just (frank)ing stood there and held Kane's hand. He's so bad. Not that Jarry or anyone was saving that rocket anyway but (frank)ing clear the crease.

Clear the crease is so 1999. He had his stick. Your not coach to actually shove guys away any more.

I was stacking firewood in case winter finally hits sometime soon for most of the game. I’m going to guess though that letang did 123 other good things in this game though.

Really? Why not? You can't screen the goalie or get a tip/deflection if you are not in front of the goal. You also get a free pass to cross check the crap out of someone.

Yeah, the elite defenseman who regularly makes rookie mistakes. He makes so many incredibly stupid plays and often at the worst possible time (like OT) that I am starting to question if he really is elite.

I'm good with not getting Scandella. I don't think he's that good and it would be $4M that we wouldn't have to spend on another upgrade.

We lose Guentzy for the season: Slight disbelieve.

We lose a game in OT due Tanger's mistake: Fanbase gets outrage.

I wonder if the Buffalo trades have dropped the price of some of these lower players who are available. I think it may have lowered the cost of Galchenyuk as well. I think JR may try to acquire someone like Sven Baertschi. Someone who was shopped by their team and have shown flashes in the past that they can be good.

Yeah, kinda been taking him for granted. He did make a couple big saves just prior to the goal
- stackthepads

Who is taking him for granted? Pretty sure everyone on this forum knows he’s been our second most important piece in us banking points while so short handed after Malkin. Honestly, a very credible argument can be made that he’s been more important than Geno.

Kessel doesn’t practice, doesn’t listen to coaches, helps instill a lazy approach to the game and defense.-new wave of American hockey fans love him.

Letang outworks everyone despite having the talent not to have to, one of the most physical meanest guys on the ice despite being one of the most gifted, fights for his teammates and figures in on 80% of the pens offense. -new wave of American hockey fans hate him.

Letang is a warrior and someone you'd want on your team. Too much skill and hustle on one guy....he just makes a few mistakes occasionally. Sid and Geno do that too.

Anyone here would be willing to trade MURRAY or SCHULTZ?

Pens played a great game last night. Few mistakes cost them goals but overall they were the better team. I'm gonna take the point and move on while keeping fingers crossed for a stud'ish winger acquisition soon.

Id trade both. Right now, exactly how much are either helping this team win? Theyre both gonna walk after this year, so why not get players who can help now or into the future? Even if Murray doesnt "walk" how much should we pay for a goalie who isnt starting?

I agree. Part of it depends on how much we can get for Murray, though, which I assume won't be a lot. If the return is meh, might be better just to keep him. He's only making $3.75, so not a lot, but not nothing, either. I guess I trust Murray more than DeSmith, but it's not a good sign if that's a debate in one's mind.

Which teams need a starting goalie that has 2 Cups and is very good? I'm perfectly fine with rolling out Desmith and Jarry. If the Pens would go get a top 6 forward and another quality D man than I feel this team has a chance at the cup.
